I own the ex-Jerry McGee Kurtis 500S that was raced in California in the early 60's. The car ran in the CM class in USAC sportscar races and his home town was listed as Norwalk, CA. Some of the race results that I have found refer to the car as the "Miller Crankshaft Special". The car usually raced as #99 but I have race results where it is listed as #199. The car is listed in a 1960 Trend Sportscar Specials book as the Kurtis-Corvette and the builders were listed as Jerry McGee and Bill McDowell who may have been the engine builder.
Any help in locating Jerry McGee or Bill McDowell or hearing from anyone who might have information on this car is very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance, Don Blenderman, Houston, Tx

Welcome to the forum Don. I'm not the one to help you, but this place can be an amazing resource.
Any chance you'd be able to post some photographs of your car?

I was at the Santa Barbara Road Races in 1965 and 1966. I believe I have a photo of the Kurtis 500S that you own, or did own at the time of your post. The photos are black and white so I don't know what color the car was but it has number 99 on the side. Email me at lightcatcher@bresnan.net. I will email a low rez picture.
