I'm trying to build information about "The Motorists Bar" at the Duke of Edinburgh in Bacton, Norfolk. It existed back in the '70s, certainly until 1974 and possibly earlier.

It was then (or may always have been - and could even be now) devoted to Mike Hawthorn and had, amongst its display, a painting of Mike at the Nurburgring and a number of drawings and photographs including one of the gravestone.

Does anyone out there remember this, have photographs or maybe even visited it?

I'm trying to add a page about it to the web site but the above is all I have. I've asked the current owners of the premises but have heard nothing. The landlord at the time would have been Eric Horace Sanderson (so says a pub web site which also mentions the bar by name).

I'm also wondering what the connection was with Mike that started the display in the first place. Possibly Lotus since Mike drove an Eleven at a number of events in 1956?

Thanks for any help!
