Recently I brought several models of pre-war racing cars made by Brumm. In some cases the description of the model by Brumm seems to be incorrect. Here is the list of my models which I can not identify.

Brumm R018. Model description by Brumm: Renault GP 3B Grand Prix de France 1906



Errors in the name of the first Grand Prix, and the type of the car are obvious, but the identification of the event is also problematical.
This model was discussed previously (http://forums.autosp...&threadid=70939)
Car #3B was driven my Edmond in GP de l’ACF 1906, but model has #1. Furthermore, it has a headlight on the left front side of the car, which I never seen on the Renault photos from the 1906 GP.
The only race of the period where Renault raced with #1 I was able to find is the 24-hours race in Brighton Beach, New York, 1909. Renault #1 driven by Charles Basle and Louis Raffalovich covered 1050 miles and won the race.

Brumm R017. Fiat S61 1908


#42 and the general appearance of the car look like Ralph de Palma’s Fiat S74, GP de l’ACF 1912.




Brumm R009. Fiat 75 HP Corsa (Coppa Florio type)



No Fiat #20 in my 1904 records except Alfred Gwynne’s Fiat 90 hp which was entered for the Vanderbilt cup but did not appear.

No Fiat #5 in my 1905 records.

Bugatti Brescia Gran Bretagna (1921)

If Raymond Mays is to be believed the first Brescias didn't reach Britain until 1922! The first three were allocated to Mays, Leon Cushman and Eddie Hall. I think this is meant to be Mays' car, which he describes as being painted "battleship grey with a certain amount of blue" at Brainsby's in Peterborough. ("Split Seconds" p31) This is the car which later became known as Cordon Rouge. Mays ran it in several events during 1922, so it probably wore 7 somewhere: Dean Hill, Caerphilly Mountain, Chatcombe Pitch, Aston Clinton, Saltburn Sands, Skegness Sands, South Harting, Shelsley Walsh and possibly more!

Thanks, Robert. Maybe its a clue. I will try to find photo from Mont Ventoux 1905.

Brumm produces a model of Bugatti Brescia #31 (R082). It wore a Brooklands-style number on a round black plate behind the driver's seat. I identified this model as de Vizcaya's car of JCC 200 1921 despite I have no pictute of this car from this particular event.
