OK, wasn't sure what level of gear you had!  A lot of people freak out when I recommend $1000 scanners, that's why I always work my way up.  I have a V700 as well and as you say if they are 35mm proofs would scan at no less than 2400 dpi.  I thought yours were 3x2 inch prints, must be getting confused with another post.  Scanning at low res is a complete waste of time as you say, because you can do very little with your results apart from looking at them on a screen.   I am currently scanning all my 35mm at 4800 and medium format at 2400, and am also in the process of buying a V800 which should help with scanning and warm up speed.

the prints stuck to the boards are 3x2 inches and the 2400 was just a quick guess and possibly 1200 will do for B&W print

What 35 mm negs do you have or era of racing

I have never counted exactly what I have, but 20000-25000 images would be a fair guess.  They are shot mainly on 35mm with some 120 rollfilm (colour and B&W) and a few rolls of transparency.  Covers the late sixties to mid seventies, then a big gap and coverage of historic events from late 1990's to mid 2000's.  The old negs are all SE Qld events (Lakeside, Surfers Paradise, Mt Cotton etc) and rallies.  Have a nice selection of images on my Facebook page if you are interested.

I suspect that as the founder of this thread Kaydee didn't expect it would still be going all these years later.

He also probably didn't expect to be the focus of a great article just published in the latest issue (#86) of Australian Muscle Car magazine. Covering his engineering career with Clisby's and Globe, Repco, etc.

Worth seeking out at your Australian or NZ newsagents.

Is that Ray Scanlan, Bob?

I didn't think he raced that car that early.

Stephen, a scan of the article on Kaydee's engineering prowess would be most welcome in this part of the world.
