Sunday afternoon, we fired the engine on the completed 1972 Eagle-Offy 72030, the last chassis built. Everything went fine and the turbo Offy fired right up and got in temperature. Nothing like the sound of that big Offy with the turbo whooshing...
Besides a minor leak due to a loose fitting, everything went as perfect as can be. The car was delivered to the AAR Museum on Monday morning, with DSG and Jerry Grant in attendence as well as former crew Butch Wilson.
Lots of memories were recalled, and the description of the 201mph lap by Jerry was, to say the least, interesting! I will post a few more pictures later, here is one at Stewart Van Dyne's shop:

AAR has a small museum containing 4 Eagle Indy cars and an Eagle-Toyota GTP MKIV. Dan has other cars but they are in storage. The purple car is now in the place of honor for a while I guess.
I will post other pics in a day or two.
