------------------------------------------
Remember to consider the whole weekend, not just the race. Also remember that it's the driver's performance that should be rated, not the car's.
------------------------------------------
Step 1 - GP takes place & voting opens
Step 2 - Everybody votes according to these rules:

* You can give a driver either three, two or one point. (Or zero, which is default.)

* You can distribute no more than ten points (but less if you want to).

* You need to vote for at least two drivers.

If I feel you are simply voting for the fav driver each time I'll put you on the ignore list for a while. (I won't be voting myself, to make it fairer). Motivating your own and politely discussing other peoples votes is fine, but ridiculing other people's votes will get you ignored. Posts should be along the lines of:

...3 points: the driver/s you think did the best job during the weekend
...2 points: the next best ones
...1 point: the ones after that

Make it clear which driver you mean. Votes that are too unspecific will be ignored.

Step 3- Voting will close in about a week

Step 4 - I'll add up the total number of votes. This will produce a 'race result'. Should drivers have the same voting score then I will split them by who has had the most Top Votes. If that fails then in reversed race result order.

Step 5 - The drivers will then be awarded championship points on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 system.
---------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------
Rate the race
------------------------------------------
Please rate the race from 0-10, using the following guide.

Quality of race
This should be a reflection of how good the race was, not how much you liked the results. Please don't give it a one or two just because driver X failed to win the championship. Think about how much it had your pulse racing and you guessing at what the end result was going to be. Use the guide below to help, and think carefully. Try to compare it not just to the last few races, but all the grand prix you've ever watched. Votes of 9 and 10 should be quite rare.

10 The best race I've ever seen
9 Contender for the best race of the last few seasons
8 Contender for the best race of the season
7 Brilliant race, I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of the race
6 Better than average, more than a few on the edge the seat moments
5 An average race, nothing spectacular but worth watching
4 Below average, too few exciting moments
3 Well, there was one or two moments of interest
2 That was completely predictable
1 I struggled to watch it all the way through
0 I slept through most of it

Satisfaction with the results
Please also rate the race in terms of how satisfied you are with the results. This one
should be based on if driver X wins the championship or not! Also factors such controversy
over DQ's that sour the event should be considered.

10 All the right results, and done with style
9 All the right results, if not in the best manner
8 Mostly the right results
7 Mostly the right results with a bit of luck
6 Some of drivers/teams I liked did well
5 Neither happy nor sad with the results
4 My likes didn't quite manage to do well
3 My likes did quite badly
2 My likes did quite badly and my dislikes did good
1 All the wrong drivers/teams did very well but I'll give them credit for doing it well
0 All the wrong drivers/teams did very well and the right ones did badly

Note: people who are on the Voting Championship ignore list can still participate in Rate the race.

Yay, a great season starter. Let's see...

3 points - If it was not for a traffic problem, he would be a rookie who defeated a two-time champ in the same car. Fantastic performance the whole weekend by Lewis Hamilton

2 points - Jaw-dropping performance by Takuma Sato and his Super Aguri. I think the last time I got this surprised by a team was on Jordan's debut. Domo arigato all around. And speaking of debuts, the Iceman Kimi Raikkonem was flawless, as usual. And showed some emotion - that's unusual.

1 point to - and let's praise the drive of Felipe Massa, helped by a fantastic strategy of Ferrari; Nick Heidfeld showed he will not be eclipsed by his team mate, as some expected; and Fernando Alonso, for the debut worthy of the complete champ he is.

Quality Overtaking, surprise teams ahead, lots of people going out f the track... even a "I was trying to improve the radio reception and hit the throttle instad of the brakes" accident by mr. Albers :p That deserves a 7.

Satisfaction I'd say 7, too. Would give a higher note if the McLaren duo was on inverted positions.

-Räikkönen - 3 pts - a perfect weekend like that deserves maximum points.
-Hamilton - 2pts - a great GP-debut. Wee bit quicker than Alonso in the race, not by much but consistently a tad quicker.
-Alonso - 2pts - Managed the best possible result in the circumstances.
-Rosberg - 2pts -shame about qualifying, but his race-performance was certainly among the best.
-Heidfeld - 1pt - A really solid weekend.

The Ferrari was so much faster I couldn't give 2 points to KR, 'cause there were several solid drives.

Hamilton was totally outstanding, I got the buzz I have not had for a long long time with a new driver. Best first drive since MS, who was also a true F1 newby - well Hamilton did have all that pre season testing and the playstation too (oh McLaren have better than a playstation for their sims don't they) - but while MS's clutch failed in a race he could well have won in a poor car, Hamilton made a brilliant recovery from a bad situation at the start. Hanging out there in corner 1& 2 is a very dangerous place to be, and he came out of it brilliantly, and then he drove the same way.

Alonso did what he had to do, he's percentage driver and he'd be happy with 8 points.

There were several good drives, I most like Barrichello's and Heidfelds, and Webber pole which was fueled more than I thought, but the points were lost with the 7% less downforce.

Basically a copy of MP's and agree with what he said. Especially Kimi. I'd love to give him 3 points but his car was so good and alot of others did good drives. I've never done this before, but as I understood the first post, it's driver performance not car/driver combined. In which case, Kimi would deserve all 10 points, since he really was that dominant.

Massa didn't bin it in qualy. It was a car failure, and he drove a pretty faultless race, without the gearbox problem he could have possibly won it so he deserves something despite the car advantage over the people he passed. So does Webber. The fuel flap was visible for all to see during the race, in qualy and first stint he was headed for 7th or 8th before the problems kicked in. Which was ahead of expectations (of RB) and his teammate. Same with Rubens, but his qualy was so bad he is lucky his race was alot better. Same with Rosberg, great race from Nico. Hamilton gets 2 because he really did exceed expectations and drove like a pro who has been doing it a long time. I don't think it's certain that he was quicker then Alonso, it's possible we could see a different pace from Alonso if he was P2 after the first corner, but regardless Hamilton's pace was very good.

If I had an extra point I'd give it to Sato because he had a reasonably good qualy and race, where as Rosberg, Rubens etc only had a good race. Fisi is the unlucky one who missed out, it's mainly because everyone expected a better race pace out of the Renault. It's hard to say if that was Fisi or the car or misinterpreted practice times where autosport concluded they could rival the front runners. The other unlucky one is Kubica.. it was very close between him and Heidfeld and through no fault of his own, he is now forgotten by most people including me. :( Davidson was pretty unlucky as well.

Raikkonen blew everyone away, without seeming to break a sweat, so 3 for him. Alonso beats Hamilton pretty conclusively, but it's his debut so one point for both. They weren't spectacular. Webber somehow wrestled the Red Bull to 7th, and Sato got an Aguri round ahead of both Hondas. And Rosberg overtook someone...
