I have found a monocoque in germany
The last owner meens it is a Alexis MK 19 . But a lot of details from the frame idendified
the car as a Daren MK2.
On the aluminium sidepods are the Letters " Tricentrol "
Any informations over a Daren MK2 or a car with a Daren frame who raced in this series ?

Kale, any chance of seeing a photo of the car?
Tricentrol sponsored several series as well as several drivers/teams in British motor sport.

The only Daren that made it to the Continent to my knowledge is the Mk. III that Chuck Graemiger used to run in Switzerland.

I assume you know this website (Eli found the prototype Daren)
http://www.currypotp...nMk2onwards.htm
There is a photo of the prototype steel Mark 2 monocoque, other Mark 2s apparently had spaceframes.
Does your chassis look like this?
Is it made from steel?
If the answer to both of these is yes then maybe that is what you have - the monocoque was never completed and was sold off.

Tricentrol sponsored a Sports GT championship in 1974 – I think that was the only year.Originally posted by Kale

The entries for the Castle Combe round on 26.8.74 included Michael Andrew in a blue Alexis Mk.19, but no Daren.
Other cars entered in that race included Aldon AL2, Sturdgess SL3, Ardua Mk4, Sirius Mk.1, Dulon GT, Martin BM10, Royale RP6, as well as various Lola, Chevron & Crossle models.

But i have two little differents :
I have no Cross member over the pedal section ( over the feets )
All other Daren MK2 have the holder for the rear suspension between the roll over - i have it
on the roll over !
All other details are the same .
The car cames to germany ca. 1975 . The german firm " REX " polish bought the car from a racecar
dealer in U.K
REX fitted the Daren chassis with a REX SP 1 Body ( The real REX SP 1 races in German Interserie races )
and go on promotion tour with it !
Have anyone pictures from the Daren MK 2 or from the Alexis MK19 ?????
best regards Kale

I do have some material on the REX story but being copyright-protected I may not be allowed to show it here. May I suggest we take that offline; have already contacted you for that purpose. However, I am most willing to share all the non-critical issues here with the entire forum to keep everyone abreast as to how this story continues.

As mentioned earlier, REX has been named after a brand of carpolish; one of their sponsorship conditions was to have a fake available for promotion shows etc. For that purpose, Jürgen picked up a junked Daren monocoque in the UK and built it up into a rolling SP-1 look-alike.
Once the REX contract had come to termination and SP-1 had passed on to subsequent owners, Jürgen even paid a hefty sum to the "operators" of those promotional tours for destroying the fake. As it turned out, they must have had a different view and tried to turn it into a running car. However, not having been designed for anything more than just being rolled from one show to another this seems to have been a major failure.
And then, some 20-or-so years later, its monocoque turned up at eBay ....

A Daren Mk 2 did appear in a round of the Tricentrol Sports GT Championship at Croft at the end of 1974. This could be your car.
Have you had any further success identifying your car in the three years since this thread?

The Daren was entered by Bradshaw Plant Hire and driven by John Corfield who later advertised the car towards the end of 1974. The team also had a Martin BM10. The Daren was fitted with a FVA engine. Does that all fit with what you know?
Ted Walker may be able to find photos if you give him the race dates: Silverstone 31 Aug 1974 and Croft 8 Sep 1974.

Thank you Guys for your help !
I have only the monocoque , whisbones , Uprights , brakes , Palliser Wheels and steering from the car.
There was a 5o % complete , early FT 200 with the car.
The complete Body, the gazoline and oil tanks and the radiator are missing.
Mr. Walker - have you any picture from Jeremy´s Daren MK 2 ??
That´s help to clear the History of my project.
Any idea - who i became a body ???
regards Karl
PS: r.ratlos - Have you any picture from the "promotion Rex SP 1" ??
