As Le Mans magic starts again for 2007, I decided to host "Guess the Le Mans". I hope to run it every year from now on.

This is the first part of the game. Here, you will guess the pole time. The "guess the race" topic is going to be opened this weekend (sunday night). Your final score will be the sum of these two. The player with the highest score will be 2007 GtLM champion!

Scoring Rules:

Scoring rules for GtLM Pole is directly taken from Makarias' famous GtPole game. As we are not much familiar with guessing about Le Mans, I decided to use the "new layout" offset format for GtLM. So, our rules are as follows:

- Participants who guess the right pole car will earn extra 5 points.

- The best eight guessers (closest to the actual pole position time) will score points F1 style: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

- Precision points are given to every participant whose guess was sufficiently close the actual pole position time according to the list below:

Time offsets

Pts [s]

10 - 0.150

8 - 0.300

6 - 0.600

5 - 1.200

4 - 1.800

3 - 2.400

2 - 3.600

1 - 6.000

Recent Poles:
Year	Pole Time	Car Drivers

2006	210.466 Audi R10 TDI	Capello/Kristensen/McNish

2005	214.715 Pescarolo	Collard/Bouillon/Comas

2004	212.838 Veloqx Audi	Davies/Herbert/Smith

2003	212.843 Bentley Kristensen/Smith/Capello

2002	209.905 Infineon Audi	Capello/Herbert/Pescatori

2001	212.429 Infineon Audi	Aiello/Capello/Pescatori

Posting format is as follows (example only) :

Car 666 - 212.121

If you have difficulties with the car numbers, you may enter the driver names (three of them), but writing the car number will be much appriciated!

You may have a look at the 2007 practice times to have an idea about this year's pole time. The best time was scored by No.8 Peugeot's Lamy/Sarrazin/Bourdais trio with a time of 206.707. However, don't forget that this year will see quicker lap times thanks to a construction on tetre rouge corner IIRC.

Here's the entry list with car numbers on the left side!

Good luck to all!

Deadline for entries:
Wednesday 13th, 1759 AtlasF1 time!

And it is only the overall Pole, not for the individual classes?

Well, yes. The class thing will be on at the race thread. And maybe next year's pole thread, if there will be enough request... I just didn't want to scare people much. :)
