According to newspaper article published the following day (The Cedar Rapids Republican And Times, Thursday, 06 July 1922, page 8, article "Mrs. John Rickard Not Fatally Hurt") she eventually recovered.
By the way, more confusion about her surname, that is reported to be Mrs. John Rickard.
On the 28th August Mrs Bess Richard was well enough to file a $10,000 injury suit in the Linn county district court against the Cedar Rapids Motoring Association, the Benton County Agricultural Society, Emmett Schrader, Gus Schrader Jr and the Cedar Valley Nash Company for personal injury damages.
