Just one race to go and the question on everybodys lips - who will chase down the amazing Makarias in his quest for the coveted GTG Crown!!? Makarias - a veteran of the sport has been a revelation this season and though had a lacklustre round in China - still holds on to a solid lead. So who can challenge for the much lusted after GTG crown? Well, you cant look past paranoik0 who has been in stunning form of late and possibly the only player Makarias is believed to fear.
Hot on their heels is Fisichella_2001 - who is coming off a strong 2006 season even stronger.
Next up is 2003 GTG World Champion Kismet who is aiming to be the first Double GTG WDC. He'll have a little competition though as reigning champ shays is also in contention albiet 15 points behind.
Juan Kerr a GTG veteren who finally has the machinery he deserves is still hanging in. Juan Kerr wasnt available for comment but his management indicate he is undergoing closed door training in order to stay fit and focused for the intense run home!
A flurry of late betting activity has elevated scheivlak as one of the favourites to take out the crown and why not - a more deserving competitor you will struggle to find.
Perhaps the most impressive player this season is rookie sensation italiansdoitbetter who is currently running 9th despite not starting every race!!
The sentimental favourite for the championship could possibly be none other than rodlamas who had a spectacular DNF in Monaco. Without the DNF he would currently be near the top of the table. This is his last gasp effort -all at his home GP!!
But though the bookies may favour scheivlak - the fans are screaming Kooper Kooper Kooper!! Meanwhile - the mercurial full course yellow is up there battling for the championship once again and he certainly also has alot of fans supporting him after last years valiant effort.
Then you have gerry nassar who somehow manages to hang in with a chance.
Then we have an array of hot shots who can sneak there way into a top 3 championship result or better still - win it.....the smooth Apex and the enigmaticsek will continue there season long scrap, as willjomiazta and long time arch rival LB . And never count out sergino or dnbn - two crowd favourites gunning for the championship. estoril85 is always capable of producing surprises and Matt Foster has been talking tough of late - confident it seems in his machinery! And dont discount the legendary garth_b gunning for his 1st GTG Championship!
Any of these players can win and so too can some I havnt mentioned!

Just two weeks to get your guesses in! Most of you know the rules - but i'll repeat them here again...
INSTRUCTIONS - IMPORTANT - READ FIRST!!!
ROUND 17 - GUESS THE GRID IN BRAZIL
Here are the Rules and Scoring system for Round 17:
1. List your guess of the top 10 qualifiers (ON THE GRID) at Interlagos This year this will mean the actual top 10 qualifying order of Saturday qualifying session BEFORE penalties are taken into account.
2. Please follow the below instructions for the way in which to post your guesses.
How to place your guesses:
When posting your guesses please post them in the following manner - put your user name and then your selections as follows (these are examples only)

Please do it in this way so that the scores can calculated quicker. Make sure that you use only the first FOUR LETTERS in the drivers SURNAME . For Ralf you can continue to post it as RSCH .
3. Post your guesses anytime before the start of Friday First Practice . You can change your guesses as many time as you like as long as its done before Friday First practice. Any posts or changes made after FRIDAY first practice begins will be INVALID!
Only guesses made before Friday First Practice begins will be calculated and count towards the championship.
4. [color="orange"]Scores will be calculated as follows:
* + 3 points for being spot on . (ie. Selecting Button in 4th and he actually qualifies 4th)
* + 2 points for being one position away from where the driver actually qualifies (ie. Selecting Raikonnen in 3rd and he qualifies either 2nd or 4th)
* + 1 point for having a driver you selected qualifying anywhere in the top 10 (not spot on or one away) ie. Selecting Hamilton 5th but he qualifies 9th
* + 5 points if you manage to correctly pick all positions in the top 10. (Note no one has done this in the last 5 years)
AND JUST TO CLARIFY some confusion - for example if you pick Massa 10th and he qualifies 11th you get 2 points, ie 1 position away. The fact that he is out of the top 10 makes you lose no points because you picked him one away at 10th.
5. The grid the result will be calculated on is that which is announced by the FIA immediately after saturday qualifying. Therefore any subsequent penalties will not be taken into account.
6. If a driver you selected is replaced during qualifying his replacement will be substituted in his place in your guesses unless you change it before Friday First Practice.
7. Results will be calculated soon after Qualifying is completed. Look out for a results thread to be posted by garth_b. This thread will feature the rounds results, a championship table, commentary etc. The results thread can then be used as a results discussion thread by you all.

PLEASE NOTE: If a driver you choose unable to qualify and race for whatever reason - you can ammend your selections as long as it is before Friday First Practice. If you dont get a chance to ammend your guesses - then we will calculate your score based on whowever replaces him
