If this is not Charlie Lucas [and I have no idea what Lucas looked like], the Hon. John Fellowes himself then. They were both listed in the entry list, but I remember from a previous e-mail conversation with the owner that this would not have been his helmet. Hence......

It's not Charlie Luke's hat either - or his face :)
Perhaps we'll have to wait until Hon John's brother's time zone is more convenient for a reply

Ok its sun up down under! David you are correct, it's not Luke though they were due to share the driving that weekend.
It is The Hon-John who at 6'7" had to take the seat out and put a small cushion in its place and one behind his back. I think you can get the impression from the photo that he's on the floor! Even with a seat they are difficult to drive!
I think I first had a play in that old girl at Upwood Airfield in about '69, I fell deeply in love with that car!

Jerry & Willem thank you so much for posting those photos here. One is in the book isn't it?

I remember Frank Gardner listening attentively to a young driver describing his Lola set-up as having turned it into a toss-and-steer car. Frank took a step back, jaw dropped, and he said: "No wonder you're slow. Toss and steer? What, simultaneously?"
