Do any of you out there have any photographs of Lola Cars you would be willing to let me use in a forthcoming book to celebrate Lolas 50th Anniversary this year. I am especially interested in the Crowne Racing Team sports car but any photos at all would be very useful over any of the 50 years, especially if they have never been printed before.

Please e-mail me if you feel you have anything that could be used.

Thank you

Just to avoid any confusion, I am NOT Paul Skilleter!! My name is Lorie Coffey and I often use my maiden name of Skilleter for signing in. Sorry to confuse you all!

I have been sent some terrific photos for this project. Thank you all so much. One last request.....Does anybody out there have a photo of the Crowne Racing Lola T292 as driven by Chris Craft? I would love to hear from you if you have!

This is from the real paul skilleter!!

Regarding the search for Lola pics, I visited Specialised Mouldings who did the GRP bodywork for the cars around 1969/70 and took some interesting colour pics of the brightly coloured bodies being made, the moulds etc. The pictures appeared in Motor at that time and should be retrievable from LAT if the date can be confirmed.

In the early 1970s I also took pictures of a road-going Lola T70 which Motor tested at MIRA in an accleration contest. Tony Dron did the driving, I worked the watches in the passenger seat. I was so surprsied by the acceleration from standstill pushing me back in the seat that I missed getting the 0-60mph time, only the standing quarter mile. But the clutch had wilted and that was that for the day. I think the car went back to MIRA and the 0-60 time was successfully established.

If any of this is of interest to this group, you can post it on my behalf.

Cheers,

Paul

I have a not-so-great pair of b/w photos of Broadley's Lola GT before Ford bought it: one front and one rear open showing the carburatted V-8.
Any use?
