I would be keen to find out more information about Alfred P Hitchings as I’ve been trailing through motor racing books to find a picture of Alfred but without luck. Unfortunately I believe he is know longer with us but would been keen to find out where he died. Additionally does motor racing still run in his family??

Fellow TNFer Haine Kane told me that he died in Tanger (Morocco) in 1980 at the age of 67.

your grandpa raced 1952 in the GP Nürburgring with a Healey Silverstone. This was very important, because he was 5th and that was the best result behind the Mercedes slr.

 

as we have a Healey silverstone we are very interested to know which Healey Alfred raced..  could you help with a photo or description ?

and this is a.hitchings in his Healey silverstone 1952 on Nürburgring ending on 5th Position behind four Mercedes sl 300.
His car was not so strong as the competitors, the Healey had 105 PS, Mercedes, Ferrari, Gordini, Porsche had between 150 and 190
