Your right how did they take a fairly good paint scheme and manage to completely wreck it.

Incidentally seems quite a bit like Rosberg dynasty thing to have your name spelled in quite visible letters on your helmet, Nico's old man had them, Häkkinen had them and now Nico has them.

Very awesome, for one of the true superstars of formula racing. :up:

Incidentally, does anyone know about civil aviation rules about aircraft painting? It might be an interesting idea for people in the advertising industry, maybe we'll see more planes covered in logos in no time at all if this catches on.

I doubt it, you see airliners so infrequently they'd make a terrible billboard and wouldn't be worth the constant repainting.

Let's hope it isn't flown like Rosberg drove in 2006...

IIRC most major airlines paint their planes quite often, every year or so...or is it every couple of years...but anyway frequently enough that special paint jobs make some sense, especially if someone is paying for it.

Well...Tony Fernandes (the CEO of Air Asia) is somewhat like Sir Richard Branson, in fact he used to work for him many years ago. He is known for his extensive advertising especially with his Air Asia aeroplanes. Apart from this Williams-inspired paintjob, there are several planes with Man Utd paintjob as well, eventhough he's a keen supporter of West Ham (IIRC) :cat:

Paint adds kilos to the plane. Heavier planes use more fuel. More fuel is more pollution. According to civil aviation rules you can decorate your plane whatever way you wish.

Mika was managed by Keke Rosberg, which is, I assume, why he included him.

As the livery of an airplane is a well known marketing tool, there are regularly special-paintings. The most famous and most beautiful (in my opinion) were the Rizzi-Boeing 757 of Condor and the Coca-Cola-Concorde.

"Welcome a gay-aboard!"

--------------
btw Nico's latest(eng->fin->eng) :

"It was great to be fastest Finn in Melbourne and that was a good start. In a Finway its nice that we 3 have good opportunities to place well in every race, especially Kimi and Heikki. In fact they have chance to fight even for a win in every race."

Dont take it too grave seriously, its his clever way to remind his dual nationality wrapped in bit of joking. He does it only for Finnish press, Germans might get confused.
