Might be Keith Sutton. I've a feeling he and I rode out to Shesso in the back of a fire truck that day. I've become accustomed to people trying to identify Royale RP26s, Ford Anglias, Lotus XIs and stuff on TNF. Is this the first time white denim has triggered a debate?

I think you are right, Simon. He has the gait of a young Sutton. In those days, were you sans camera?

The Serra Donington pic must be 78 Alan, not 79. And I think Frank's superb 'Ingliston 78' pics are also '79.

Yes that's the one Lola T222, and also Mike Wheatley in the Castrol BRM ,

Think the chris Barber coloured 47 is Ken Eady

No 1 - Pete Stevens Vauxhall Carlton
No 10 - Gerry Mahoney Cossie Sierra (I think Gerry has posted on TNF occasionally)
No 76 - I should know the driver but just can't think who it is at the moment

Edit: No 76 - Rod Birley?

So do the General Regulations of the MSA - but, as usual, it's one rule for some and another rule for others...

I think 16 is Stuart Donnan's ex JQF/FINA Gerrit Van Kowen BTCC RS500

Another shot halfway down this page - http://www.motorspor...dersaloons.html

And here's a shot from Donington 1991 in the days when there were still trees near the 'Foggy Esses'(as it wasn't called then) with Donnan chasing Mahoney,Wilson & Stephens

The Porsche 908/3 Siggi Braun's Car ?

Date: 25th June 1983. Correct on both counts, Pete. Desire Wilson in the Brunn Porsche. 'Whizzo' shared the Plygrange-entered Chevron with Crawford. No 5 Porsche is the Barry Robinson/Dudley Wood car.

Might be John Brolly Bpoth's RF83 leading the FF1600 posse, with Wally Warwick's Reynard just behind and Roland Turner's white Royale RP26 towards the back of the group.

Suggest Butcher Booth, Allard Kalff and Eric Pennington are also in shot as is John Webb's plane who must have been caught out in a first lap fracas and has been pushed off the circuit

I would check the "Motoring News" report of the race but as I penned it .......... it will no doubt be useless :)

Not this one, Phil. It was another, similar, shot featuring David Leslie and, I think, Jim Crawford.

Is that late 83 Alan, or maybe early '84? Plygrange started the 83 season with a Chevron in S2000, and got the March later on I believe. They carried the March over into '84

Alan, may I have a stab at naming these 1600 boys?
Pic 1:Richard Dean leads Derek Higgins, Jose Cordova, Jonathan McGall, Vincenzo Sospiri, Pedro Chaves and Rick Morris.
Pic 2:Richard Reynolds, ??, Minoru Tanaka, Miles Johnston (or Palhares) Adrian Fernandez and Taki Inoue.
Pic 3:Rick Morris, Pedro Chaves and Vincenzo Sospiri.
Vincenzo broke the lap record that day with a 48.44 lap that only lasted until 1989 when Rod MacLeod broke it. The guy in the white Swift is bugging me.....! *Edited I think it could be Tim Sugden in the Swift, it looks like his helmet, he went onto be Swift's factory driver the following year in the Tredaire car.

When playing the captains' game on Question of Sport and trying to name F1 world champions (I assumed they wanted to include pre-82 world champions as well), I managed to miss out Mansell completely!

Commentator Brian Kreisky must have struggled to contain his glee at seeing another frightening accident that he could peddle on the next Havoc video
