It's his headrest. He got his leg stuck in the airbox.

hahaha, I had to look at that three or four times as well!!

It's the headrest/cockpit protection. He obviously popped it off over his head before getting out of the car. I was thinking "How the fsck did he get his leg stuck in there?!" on first viewing ;)

i thought it was the headrest on first glance too, but didn't realise the whole thing could detach, i thought just the part with the sides did.

So did I, that's why I got so confused. I guess with the additional cockpit protection they've made it a one-piece? Unless it always has been and I'm just not observant enough ;)

Well if they had 1 second faster pitstop they would have taken lead and won the race, and Vettel would have crashed into Hamilton!  ;)
