everybody understands that this will be a big fight for 08 and 09 at least.

besides the ferrari-mclaren challange for 08 - and what a call, spy revenge, etc - there´s a obvious interest as who will win the battle between this two 07 mclaren drivers that lost the wdc 07.

.a win for mclaren-lewis would be a wdc for lewis in 08.
.a win for alonso would be a wdc in 09 and no wdc for lewis at all.
.a draw will be lewis wdc08 and alonso wdc09.

we had similar fight in 90/91 with prost-senna: no doubt won by senna-mclaren.

Possibly, but we only had the fight because Prost had got inside Senna's head during '88 and '89. I've always thought that Senna was the outright quicker of the two, but that Prost had slightly better race craft. I went back and had a watch of all the races between '88 and '91 a month or so ago and it was really quite interesting.

As for Hamilton and Alonso, I can't wait to see them actually fighting on circuit rather than through the tabloids. Given the current pace of the Renault that might not be possible in the early part of the year, but there's always the rest of the season to catch up. A three-way fight between Renault, McLaren and Ferrari would be brilliant, and with the needle between Hamilton and Alonso chucked in it would be even better.

possibly very difficult.

the senna-schumacher battle was unfortunate.

and i believed in good stuff.

but reality has given us different scenario's:

-senna-schumacher, very teased in 92-93, cut by senna´s accident in 94.
-prost-senna ferrari mclaren duel was short.
-the lauda-hunt after 76 never happened.
-the pace-reutemann nix.
-the jimi-massa is already dead.
-piquet is forgotten aldo he won great in diferent times at diferent teams.

alonso is closer to prost-mclaren divorce than andretti's view of alfaRomeo.

I think both of them will be better off focusing on fighting Raikkonen and Ferrari. Funnily enough I think that's what they will be focused on too.
