Herewith some stuff from the HSCC Mallory Park meeting on Sunday....

Posted Image
Ashley grime: Ian gets stuck in at the Esses. He finished second in both Historic FF1600 races.

Posted Image
Golden pond: Mark Hulme (Modus M1) passes the lake. Not sure whether the Bay City Rollers are still out there, somewhere.

Posted Image
Jim Gathercole: shining example.

Posted Image
Heavy mettle: Martin Edridge and Steven Bee.

Posted Image
Slide rule: Colin Wright scored back-to-back FF2000 victories...

Posted Image
...unlike Paul Possamai.

Posted Image
Triumphs in adversary: Jeremy Stafford (GT6) and Edwin Driver (TR6).

Posted Image
The future's orange: for Kenny Acheson in 1979, read Jamie Brashaw in 2010.

Posted Image
Peter Hore narrowly fails to keep up with the Jones (Mark of that ilk).

Posted Image
Directionary enquiries: Adrian Littlewood (wrong) and Michael Wales (right, but about to run quite wide).

Posted Image

Posted Image
Traction control, the old-fashioned way: Phil Glaister and Colin Gunton.

Posted Image
Doing the twist: David Wild (Reynard SF79),

Posted Image

Posted Image
Not the greatest of weekends for Brian Webb. Race one (top); race two (below).

Is this sort of "effort" really necessary in Historic Racing???

I've set up a little blog where I'll post picture from (mostly) Italian festivals and gatherings (as well as some automotive-related architecture pictures I take from time to time): since the quality of the entries in such events can be rather less than dazzling, I decided to go for a personal point of view instead of presenting a review of the attending cars that, in most cases, would result in an endless list of 500s and Giuliettas. Whether this is a good choice or not is up to you to decide: feel free to leave a comment here, or directly on the blog...I'd be glad to know your opinion. I'll try to update as often as possible, as long as there are events to cover!

Pete, was the Sebring Healey running on wires, or is it another one running on non-period Minilite/lookalike alloys with wrong rim width and wrong offset?

Can't remember, but if you start thinking about stuff like that you would go crazy, there is just so much of it! I think that the absolute worst anachronism of that sort is the state of the art modern sticky bike tyres which the three-wheel Morgans use.

Here are some pictures I took at the Pontedecimo - Giovi regularity hillclimb that was held last week in Genoa. This event has an heritage spanning back to 1920s, with 28 races taking place between 1922 to 1967 on the challenging route that starts from the city outskirts to reach the top of the hilly ridge separating the sea from the mountain region up north.
Italy being Italy, someone had forgotten to ask for the right authorization for the first day stage to take place in the harbour area near the airport, so the event had to be cut short: although it seemed, at first, that the authorities had not cared about the lack of paperwork, Genoa being Genoa an old lady ( - sigh -) complained about the noise (which is at least a peculiar objection, since the cars were on a pier between the airport landing strip and the shipyards :drunk: ) and the whole thing was shut down until the following day.

Lovely quality, teapot. The weather doesn't half help, methinks.

Meanwhile, while the 'toffs' were slumming it at Goodwood, I trundled off on the regular pilgrimage to Angouleme for the Circuit des Remparts and another enjoyable weekend in very sociable surroundings. A few samples of the fare on offer...
