That looks like the same March that Roger Wills tripped over at Monaco. The driver was a Turkish gentleman in Monaco and the helmet is certainly the same.

Indeed, Cangiz Artam is the man.

PS Lovely angle of Andrew Beamont with the Lotus 76, David

Raced as Can Artam in GP2 2005

The chap I saw standing alongside the car in racing overalls at Brands Hatch appeared to be a generation older... Are Cangiz and Can father and son, perhaps? I wanted to talk to him (since I remember this car first time around with John Love), but when I turned back after taking a photograph he had vanished.

Certainly Cangiz was driving slower than you'd expect a GP2 driver to be capable of, although perhaps not dangerously so at Brands Hatch.

Did John Love ever run with Gunston livery on his helmet? I thought he had a plain white helmet.

From uzman.tv via google translate:

'Genghis Artam; Classic Car Collector, the racing driver.

He was born in Istanbul in 1954. His interest in cars began in childhood. In the 1970s, took the podium in Turkey and Europe has various degrees pistlerdeki karting races, competed in several races with the famous pilot Ayrton Senna.

Rally held in Turkey in the 80s and climbing, despite difficult conditions in all races, took the hearts of many. Because of intense work pace at the beginning of the 90s had to break motorsport.

To deal with cars as a hobby, and the owner of a classic that began to restore classic cars. It is seen in the worst case, take the valuable cars come to life again.

Caused by the increasing number of automobile "Car Museum" Genghis Artam who brought the idea in the 2000s with the aim to support his son Carter Artam'a again returned to the runways and the experience gained in many degrees and trophies
'

I couldn't find anything that confirms it but I'd say it is very likely that Can Artam is his son.

Re GP Masters at BH 27 May;

Has anyone a photo of Brendon Hartley driving the Lotus 92, please?

Wearing number 11, I think.

Thank you in advance.

25th June 1988 Silverstone. 1950s historic racing at its best - A pair of P25 BRMs slugging it out lap after lap, followed by their typical blue smoke haze. John Harper and the Hon Amschel Rothschild.

As it is ten years since my first Revival in 2002 I was looking through my photographs feeling quite nostalgic.

Nothing special about this picture that I took at Lavant other than I like the gentle Sussex countryside and the informal feel of that Friday practice day.

Exactly !! We coudn't quite believe it when we heard that the Chaparrals were being brought over. I had a number of brief conversations with Jim Hall and his wife Sandy over the three days, and I think Jim was genuinely taken with the British fans support and knowledge of these fantastic machines - less so with the weather - "Jesus - it's just like WEST Texas !" as another storm blew in. As a result, this was the last year that the main paddock was uncovered. Typically American though, they put on a show and of course several Roadrunners have been back to subsequent Goodwood FOS. I will never forget the first time the 2J went hoovering up the hill , incredible.... JohnP

Hopefully this link works. It's a gallery of images - if you can put up with the Facebook format, of sports racing cars of a variety of eras, including current. The majority of these images have been taken at Historic festivals.

They are assembled in alphabetical order so don't be put off that a modern Aerial Atom is first image in the collection. Auscam, Centaur, Elfin, JMW, Cooper, Galloway, Bulant, Hooper, Phantom, JBW, Goddard, Leyford, Lister, Kajera, Lola, Tiga, Lolita, Mallock, Matich, Sabrina, MRC, Mistral, ASP, BARP, BDR, Chili, Chiron, Prosports, Ferrari, Fraser, Farr, Gladiator, Infiniti, March, Minetti, Nota, Porsche, PRB, RCR, Radical, Ruea, Bella Fury, Rennmax, Royale, Swift, Seco, Saidur, Westfield, Welsor, Whitakker, WRM, Skelta... I'll post across any images here to TNF if any of those names is interesting.

Nothing wrong with the format. You just need to change the properties of the album to make it visible for everybody who hasn't a facebook acount.

If there's sufficient interest, I'll write up articles on these cars similar to previous studies:
Denny Hulme's McLaren M23 (chassis M23/1) and Jackie Stewart's 1971 Tyrrell (his backup car, chassis 004.)

Ha! I won't cross-post a picture of that one as despite its looks it is not historic. It's a recent creation from a family of renowned Australian racer-engineers, Bill Norman (son of Eldred) called the GEK Sports for Ground Effects Kawasaki. It's a hillclimber cobbled together from various bits of Bill's spares. Not sure if the chassis was a donor or new. It's undoubtedly effective it took second place at the Mount Cootha hillclimb at its debut event.

Kwakas made good hillcimb engines. Remembering John Davies (who died last month after a short illness) and his DBF-Kawasaki hillclimber that won two Australian Championships.
