Gronky .... Looking towards the Clerk of Course ????? Is this thing allowed out or is it April fools day .....And No83 saying Oooooo Please don,t take a photo with me in the back ground.

Could well be a re-bodied VW based Dune Buggy, couldn't it? That would explain the wide rollover bar. I saw a buggy yesterday in Belmont Auckland NZ, used to be plenty of them years ago.

Big mistake! In the hands of Enno [one of the best Vee drivers around,IMO], that car was right up there with the best. And what a great sport he was too - he loaned me a pair of rear tyres [for what turned out to be my last Vee race] one day at Warwick Farm. After coming in 2nd behind Berni, I had to beg forgiveness from Enno, who came in 3rd. He just congratulated me! A true Gentleman.

If only he shaved!

Enno, known as 'He's No Businessman' if you hung around the Doug Heasman team when they were running against him, never drove on the road. Udo drove him everywhere.

Why?

Because in those times, if you lost your road licence you couldn't race. Enno took no chances!

Enno was pretty successful in F2 as well.

'Been in weather.'

Mm-hmm. And a fair bit of salt water too, maybe?

Did it ever have a roll bar?

Mind you, probably worth the $60 it's at now for a pick at the parts.

Actually sold for $458. I rang the owner, all he kept on saying was" it's completly rusted out, the engine is full of water".

I actually think that looks pretty smart. Perhaps I have no aesthetic taste whatsoever, but that looks a tidy little machine.

It's certainly not an Aussie Vee...

We didn't let them have wheels like that.

Now all we need is a car name and the identity of the guy under the helmet! For $457 which is maybe 300 pounds or so, it'll be a fun resto project. It's not as though they are complex cars with incredibly rare parts.
