Good afternoon!

I need some infos about the South American F3 series:

(1) Felipe Vargas is the team principal of the Piquet Sports. I know that he was technical director in a team in the South American F3 from 1993 until 1999. In which team was that?

(2) I need the drivers in the South American F3 series in 2002, who were 11th, 12th, 14th and from 16th until the end of the championship table.

(3) With which cars drove Nelson Piquet II in 2001 and 2002 in this F3-series? Picture?

(4) I need all the Top3 results from 2001 and 2002.

Lots of difficult questions...

I heard that there was also a South American Formula Two series around the 80s. Any more details about that?

HistoryFan was requesting information on the 2001 & 2002 South American Formula 3 results back in 2008 (before I started looking at the Atlas F1 Nostalgia site.

 

Rob Ryder gave quite a bit of information (in October 2008) on winners of various rounds.

 

If HistoryFan is still interested in this series, he could find all the information, full entrants/starting grids/results in the 'Formula One Register Record Books' individual years available for both 2001 & 2002.

 

These of course are available from the Formula One Register.

South American F2 was known locally as F2 Codasur. It was born from Mecánica Argentina Formula 2 (Argentine F2) in late 1982.

The first years it were exhibition races. In 1983 was instated the championship, that lasted until 1986.

All four championships were won by Guillermo Maldonado, with a chassis Berta MK III with the VW 1500 (Hillman Avenger / Dodge 1500) engine.

The series turned to South American F3 in 1987.
