put hamilton in that donkey of a car and see how he performs.
And anyway your going to witness Alonso transform that donkey into a stallion throughout the season

Last year Massa went 22.->6. and there was no safety car if I remember right.
Fuel loads total unknown at top10....
Steady work from Heikki.
Kubica fast as winter showed, one of drivers who benefited the new ECU.

That is definitely something that's caught us out over the Winter. And this at Melbourne, where Ferrari normally show very well.Originally posted by i.am.cloned
Ferrari look like they are neither relaible nor really fast in first qualification of the season!
Lets wait until tomorrow though, when fuel loads are revealed, you never know, Massa may have gone tremendously heavy and those in front of him extremely light - I doubt it, but it could happen.

Me thinks he'll need more than the fabled six tenths. Wierd how he couldn't provide that ahead of the start of the season. And all the talk

It's Massa'a hope, Kimi's hope is the next race.Originally posted by jokuvaan
Kimi's only hope for win is safety car at the very right moment. I hope start goes well.

Raikkonen purely unlucky, Massa was right up there but abandoned his last tilt at pole. Think Ferrari have plenty of pace, today just didn't work out for them. Reliability still an issue though.
Alonso was disappointing but clearly Renault lack pace over a lap. I expect him to have a far better run tomorrow. Piquet? Not good.....

He qualified 13th for the australian gp in '05. that season turned out ok!;)

Kubica! That could be Pole on pole without the mistake. BMW may well win a race this year.
Kovalainen Solid start with the team
Ferrari WTF slow and unreliable. Doesn't look good
Trulli - standard
Glock - also solid start with the team
Renault are in deep s***
Piquet even deeper

They are. Massa is no good with no toys and Kimi had reliability problems. I am no Kimi fan, but I expect him to win in the end.

Piquet and Nakajima are living on borrowed time.
Toyota have taken a step forward, Renault backwards.
Damage limitation exercise for Kimi, Massa should try and finish on podium.

a bit dramatic, don't you think? Ok reliability is lacking but Massa was right behind Hamilton before the last flyers then backed off on his last tilt as it wasn't going to be enough. They have speed and I'm thinking their race pace will be superior tomorrow. Whether Massa or Raikkonen win though is another matter, Felipe seems best placed.

Christ. Good to see everyone is an expert after the first qualy session of the season is done. What makes you think Massa is no good without the toys? He qualified 4th and could easily have been quicker, nor do we know how much fuel he has. He backed off on his last run.
Had Raikkonen been untroubled he would have been right there too.

It looked like fuel starvation started the problem with pump, really they just ran out of fuel although blame might be placed elsewhere.
They aren't that slow either, it will be close with Mclaren all the way.

Or perhaps not, I think the car has great potential, just I think the setup went completely wrong yesterday practise and went down hill from there...

I think pushing by the driver isnt allowed anymore for some years now (safety issue).Originally posted by StefanV
Kimi would have been allowed to push the car himself? Sloppy there by Ferrari.

Usually (fat) marshalls push it in, perhaps they were waiting for the session to end? But the car was creating a bottleneck in that thin lane. Track workers certainly saved some calories there!
