The wording in the early Bugatti books is confusing: I think Worthington, Nadin and Fuller may have owned the car before de Ferranti, who ran it with a supercharged engine (ie, as a 35C).
Terry Cardy still owned it in 1980, but by 1988 it was in the hands of H Taylor in Gloucestershire
Nothing further known

Sometimes the life is surprising.............
I got via standart mail this morning a letter from the son of De Ferranti..who is always a Bugatti enthusiast.......
He had a picture of 4801....; at the back it was written by his father :
My first Bugatti
1926-7? bought 2nd hand
sold to Philip Worthington
So it reveals that De Ferranti was the second hand, and Worthington the 3rd....
Then who is the first ?
and what about nadin and fuller... (these names appear in the bugatti book).....
David: what is the story with the supercharger ???
regards from france,
PS: do you know how to put a picture on the message ?

You do know, don't you, that Colonel Sorel was head of the British Bugatti distributors? Therefore he was not an individual first owner. Rather like Ferraris being listed as being first supplied to Hoare UK - which would indicate Colonel Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, bound for a customer - or Chinetti USA - bound via Luigi Chinetti to a first-time American (or Mexican) customer...

"Second hand" isn't actually an ordinal in English - it just means pre-owned. Doesn't give you a clue to the number of previous owners, I'm afraid.
