According to the latest F1 you can run Minardi (Reb Bull 2) for a year on $50 Million, imagine what you can do with £53 million

You've missed out one Crooks, that was Toby Crooks, a part time optomitrist who competed as a team mate of Girling Foss at that never to be forgotten Grand Prix du Rock

Today's Sunday Times has an article titled "All crooked roads lead to Kent".
Although that item doesn't mention motorsport, someone in Kent with a long motorclub involvement tells me "The Tonbridge Job" does have at least one tenuous link to the sport...allegedly.

2F-001:

The charges were bought by Credit Suisse with whom he had a line of credit on his oil deals. He
bought low from unstable governments and sold high. Must of missed a payment or two! His bail was paid by Akram Ojjeh...Essex disappeared from the side of the Lotus by mid-season...I stand corrected, but I still won't be inviting him to dinner.

No, you were right, I popped off without knowing the full facts. My memory was based on the little info available in the day. Only this morning after your correction did I "google" his name and get a fuller and the more correct picture. I wish someone had invented the Internet about 30 years ago!
Then I wouldn't put my foot in my mouth so often over the years :blush:
