They have many interesting F1 cars, Rally cars, road cars, classic cars, sports cars, some great photos of drivers such as Jim Clark, Phil Hill and Ayrton, a must visit

Yes, that's the one I was referring to earlier, but I couldn't remember the name of the place, Lohéac. I knew it had been discussed here before though, and it's every bit as good as it looks on the website. Very French of course, but there's nothing wrong with that, at any rate, not when you're in France there isn't.

Just another bit of public road, of course, but there to be examined.

I was there a few weeks back and a chap in a bookshop told me that there was motor racing on the beach for one year only, prior to the street races, and also that photos from the race period are very hard to find. I failed to trace a cafe owner who apparently has lots?, a relative term I suspect, of stuff, so I will try the town archives again, who were very helpful last time. I cannot over praise the museum, not much race stuff, but as a display of French cars from 1896 it is brilliant.

Hi Barry, i will make sure when we go home and catch the ferry that we take a look at Caen circuit. Thanks also everyone to the suggestions, i will try and force my wife away from the pool and investigate Rennes Museum. Paul
Hope you do Paul - I failed - having said I'd have a look. Nearest I got in the end was Pont-l'Évêque...not a bad place...

Walking through a little corridor there were more models and would you believe a huge scale model of the Chapparal 2J sat in a clear case. Amazing detail.
Of the real cars the blue Ferrari 250 SWB and the Delahaye 135 really drew our attention. It was a nice drive there from Trinitie Sur Mer and once out in the countryside the roads are so quiet.
Did,nt make it to Caen circuit though as wifey wanted to look around the Cathedral and castle.
