Donald Davidson contact?

Does anyone have an e-mail address for Indianapolis 500 historian Donald Davidson? If so, please e-mail it to me.

Up against a tight deadline here...

I just got off the phone with Donald.

 

He was thanking me for a you tube link I sent him with Jean Shepherd waxing lyrical about the 500 on his WOR radio show.

We chatted...or should I say, HE regaled me with stories about Jean Shepherd and his interest in the 500 for over thirty minutes !!

It was like having a private Talk of Gasoline Alley right here in my front room.

 

We are also talking about his involvement in show business and was thrilled to be able to mention those stories because they aren't something he gets to rhapsodize over very often. One such story was about him running a follow spot for Frank Sinatra !!

I hope to see him in May

Jean Shepherd was my hero for years, and I listened to him almost nightly. He was obviously interested in cars, and his books reflect that, but I don't recall his 500 piece. Had the good fortune to meet him at the 1968 New Hope Auto Show; next year's honored guest was Rene Dreyfus!

 

It would be great if Donald Davidson could be persuaded to publish his "Shep" stories somewhere.

Donald is not into email, but will discuss things on the phone.

I was about to help until I realised the date of Jim's post, and that it wasn't Jim who bumped the thread. At a guess the tight deadline was less than 6 years.
