I think there must be a language barrier problem here. This MonzaDriver post is entirely unjustifable and sullies an otherwise fascinating thread. Delete?

If there are some language barrier problem,
help me in understand the real meaning of those phrases of Peter Elleray:

Is it safe to come out over the parapet?

i am right in thinking this started out as a lotus thread aren't I?

Above all the second one. Because to me doesn't relate to the rest of his post.

Thank you in advance.

It's not all bad, I'd say this is progress of a sort. It must be the first time MonzaDriver has got upset about something and not tried to pin all the blame on Colin Chapman.

Rob, I'm not sure our English humour translates.

Well in the meantime you were writing, in fact,
I was wondering about if there is some relationship between Colin Chapman
and the fact that sometimes I dont understand at all person's saying in this forum.
Just as soon I'll find out I will let you know Kayemod..............
This remark was really funny Kayemod................
Grazie, Ciao.

....houses Caterham R&D for the road car division which is about to expand in a deal with Renault...Lotus 7 anyone?

OT a little, but Lotus connected.

E come Peter ha detto "Posso parlare ora senza paura?"... Can I now speak without fear?

i am right in thinking this started out as a lotus thread aren't I?

I think this is English humor Peter knows the answer to the question and is acknowledging he has drifted off topic, while still remaining with in the outer bounds of the topic as introduced by a third party in post #46

Indeed. Far too good looking to be any Toleman. It's a Renault.

DCN

I remember a few years ago Ron Dennis was fond of calling the lesser F1 teams "track-cleaners". I think the Toleman TG183B is possibly
the only F1 car actually designed to be a track-cleaner :)

One wonders where would Ron be without a multitude of track cleaners ?

Cleaning the track for Red Bull and Ferrari perhaps ;)

Thank you Nigel, Thank you Arttidesco,
I dont think this is British humor.

To my humble opinion the reply of Kayemod it's intelligent, wit, and probably full of British humor.

Ciao, MonzaDriver.

MonzaDriver, you are so very wrong. The only person being rude or impolite in this thread is you. Please - no more. :)

No, I don't interpret any of Peter's posts as being anything other than those of someone trying to give an accurate explanation of the difference between the audi and the Bentley. I don't see the "Superior" attitude you are seeing. It's something that is being introduced by your translation.

I don't think anyone comes here to do anything other than share knowledge and learn. If they want a fight they can get one much more easily at the RC threads, which seem like a kids playground.

This place is for mature adults, surely?

I don't see it that way either.

I think the 'Lotus' topic has run its course but this thread has also incorporated some valuable insight on another subject, namely the recent Bentley Le Mans project, with the record books set straight once and for all by its project leader Peter Elleray. For that we should be most grateful.

Unfortunately a member with a hitherto unblemished record has misinterpreted some comments and has caused a little friction. I shall drop him a line. But don't let that issue detract from the very interesting history lesson we've been given here.

Thread closed.
