It looks like the side pods have a lot smaller front end... Rear end looks also very tightly packed in.

lovely looking car. All the cars this year look nice, well with the exception of the step nose of the Lotus.
I wonder if the ugly ducking will be alone this year.

It reminds me 1997. Only 3 cars on the grid weren't dominated by blue/white colour combination.Hmmm, that's 4 cars that are essentially either black or a grey-type colour this year (Lotus, Merc, Sauber and McLaren). The Marussia is going to have a load of black on it as well, I suspect, and the Williams, RBRs and STRs are a dark blue sort of colour. It's not going to be that easy to differentiate many of the cars on the longer camera or overhead shots.

so they confirmed that they will try to run DRD. Only McLaren said that they already dropped the idea?
Andy Green also confirmed to us yesterday that it's not currently a development thread for Force India although they did asses it late 2012 / early 2013

For me, the Force India looked better last year with the stepped noselovely looking car. All the cars this year look nice, well with the exception of the step nose of the Lotus.

Cool livery.
But last year's was just too horrible and hilarious. I still remember someone in this forum said sth like "it looks it's been sitting under the bridge for long time"

But how many more grey cars do we need?

The best looking car so far.
I share this note. Yet again, Sauber wins the "best rims" competition, too!

It's better than the livery before
But how many more grey cars do we need?
Ferrari - Red
Mclaren - Chrome and Rocket red
Mercedes - Silver- Aqua marine
Lotus- Black, gold and red
Red Bull - Blue and red
Williams- Blue and white
Force India- White, Green, Red and Orange
Caterham- Green
Marussia- Red and Black
Torro Rosso - Distinctively deep blue with gold and red
SAUBER - GREY.... so it seems one.... one grey car we need.. -.-

Despite such a drastic reduction in the size of the sidepods, Morris is certain the Sauber has not over-reached itself with the design, even though it took a long time to make the packaging possible.
"Checo had quite a bad accident in Monaco a few years ago and when we got the car back and we saw the sidepod all squashed in, we thought 'I wonder if we could do that?'" said Morris.

But then again I think Williams' current livery is the most boring thing imaginable and people apparently think it's fantastic.

why?
The nose knows?

Doesn't having almost no sidepod net more airflow volume to the rear than an coanda EBD?
#137

That is a very clever way to keep the front nose aesthetics while maintaining the step for whatever aerodynamic purposes.
I have a feeling pretty much everybody will be copying this concept. (like they did with the exhausts last year)

The Sauber as always is one of the most interesting cars when the season opens, problem is they always slow down considerably at the end of the season

Good point. Sometimes, it's better to have an overall slower car as long as it has particular strengths - especially in the midfield this can earn you surprise podiums. I hope the car is still good on its tyres.A very nice looking car, but I'm wondering why they moved away from their rear exhaust layout. It was arguably the best design in F1 at the beginning. It generated alot of downforce and kept the rear tyres in excellent shape. Hopefully they can keep their tyre degradation low, but I would have expected a refinement of their existing design rather than switching concept. Good luck to them though.

He may joke. But looking at this image it seems the only way the new radiators could fit.
