Tried to translate everything the best I could last sentence was a little bumpy.

"Timo Glock (31) and the Marussia Formula 1 team will seperate on monday in a mutual agreement. That is reported exclusively by Sport Bild Plus on sunday evening in the recent App-Issue (ready for download from 21:00)

Glock "I was allowed to experience three great years at the Marussia F1 team. We part in friendship", about his future Glock didn't want to say anything yet, "I want to take new challenges and continue my path in motorsport"

It's possible, that Glock will completely leave Formula 1 and is eyeing a DTM-Cockpit. As former BMW-Sauber test driver in Formula 1, he still has good contacts in Munich.

A first Chance for the man from Wersau to start a new career in the touring car would be on tuesday a three day test at Valencia, on which BMW is also taking part. For Mercedes another former Formula 1 pilot: Robert Kubica (Poland) will show his debute testing in a DTM car in spain."

OMG D: another german driver gone... that leaves... 3.... I hope Sutil comes back....

Timo how could you... you were my Team Mate in the F1 2012 game D:

Strange if this is true. Glock ruined his F1 career by going to Marussia yes, but if he leaves I doubt we'll see him on the grid this year. He's saying he wants new challenges in motorsport, so that could suggest a DTM move or something?

Timo is actually a very good driver. Shame he didn't have the right car behind him...

I don't blame him, he was way too good for that team.

A loss for F1. He's talented but has wasted the last 3 years by going to a rubbish team. It was inevitable for Marussia and Caterham to have to resort to two pay drivers. Such a shame he traded that Renault seat (though he would have been given the boot, but had he performed sufficiently then he would have been attractive to a few other teams). At least he has had some achievements. A front row start and a handful of podiums achieved within two years.

I think Petrov will move to Marussia. He brings money, is not awful and there's a Russian GP taking place next year. It makes sense.

A pity to see him go, would have been great to see him take the Renault seat in 2010 as was supposedly offered to him instead of Virgin.

I feel sorry really sorry for Glock but if he goes to DTM, I wish him all the best and I hope he becomes successful at it. I remember watching Glock in his first Formula One race with Toyota and he was looking good for a points finish until he ran wide and his car went flying off the track and damaged the car! Also in Hungary where he got an impressive 2nd place.

I agree with KavB though, it does make sense to see Vitaly Petrov going to Marussia, it's sort of like a swap deal with Charles Pic going to Caterham :p

That comes as a shock for me. :| I liked his approach to F1 races - a true fighter. 3 years ago he was very motivated to build up a young team and lead it to the midfield. I think there would have been other career paths for him, but the corporate Toyota approach was just not his way of racing in F1, although he did pretty well there. That's why he decided pretty early in the "silly season" to join Virgin.

Was there a chance for him to move up to a midfield team? Probably not without sponsoring (and that is pretty much independent of his performance but rather a question of money and age I believe).

Another thought: In hindsight, Hulkenberg was right to stay a year out instead of going to one of the new teams - they really seem to be career dead ends. With the current reliability and the lack of car performance it is difficult to shine.

Force India may not name their 2nd driver until after testing.
So surely that rules out a rookie who would need testing.
Is that a sign Glock could go there?

Tabatha Valls @tabathavalls
Looks like Marussia can't afford to keep Timo, and team has to let the driver its built itself around go. Sad to see F1 loose so much talent

If anyone is unfamiliar with Tabatha, she used to work for HRT and then moved to Marussia and as far as I know she still does.

I'm not sure of her actual job but she worked with JRM in the WEC this season too, at least for one race anyway.

EDIT: Since this discussion has been moved from elsewhere i guess i'll repost this! :drunk:

My guess to replace Timo is Razia. He's been quiet of late, a little too quiet, he also brings a good wedge of money and would be more willing than Senna/Petrov to take a drive at the now tail end charlies.

Was hoping that this story would initially be about him leaving to take the 2nd Force India seat, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. Wonder who will replace him at Marussia. Anyone for Heidfeld?!

So that's all six initial drivers of the "new teams" in 2010 whose careers have been finished.

Yeah, but if you look at it positively their careers would otherwise have been finished at the end of 2009.

I suspect thet the "New challenge" he wants is racing at the front of the field in a competetive car...

The word mutual agreement says it all. They clearly respect him and let him leave with dignity so it wasn't a last minute sacking but a planned divorce.

Probably told him months ago they are looking for other people for his seat. Told him if they find a funded warm body to take the spot they will do so. Probably why we see the DTM rumors with BMW pop up just as quickly.

WOW! This is miserable news for F1. He is super talented - I expected him to move up or Marussia to improve. Crap.

I think I'm coming to the opinion that if in F1, you cant afford at least ONE decent driver, you probably shouldn't be participating. They're just hanging by a thread now.

Just as well to be honest. He deserved better than Marussia anyway, so a bit sad to see that he wasn't picked up by any of the mid fielders.

Total shame if true, again if true it's another thing to lay at eccelstones feet on providing a sub par racing series.... Timo is a top drawer driver.

There is no way a serious driver does this (which Glock is) unless forced out. DTM is a fine series, but not close to F1. Marussia must be looking for another pay driver.

Would anyone choose a front running DTM drive over an F1 back marker? (hint: no!)

Kobayashi, Kovalainen, and now Glock off the grid for 2013? That's a real shame, but I'm sure Max Chilton and Giedo van der Garde won't be complaining.

Too bad about Glock. Definitely not a good situation for him or the series.

The thing is, all of the new teams have fared pretty poorly. No points by any of them in 3 years. THAT is sad, truly...

Well the thing is that often when an F1 driver has driven at the back of the grid for a few years their reputation suffers and they are forgotten about by the bigger teams. I mean look at Glock surely its obvious that he's better than either Sutil or Bianchi but it doesn't seem to work that way.

If we haven't forgotten him, I fail to see how the paddock would. Perhaps they have other reasons, like wanting drivers that bring money rather than having to pay...

I don't quite get why he wants out. Marussia has shown good progress over 2012, and I do actually believe that they will be able to be close to, if not already as fast as, the slowest of the established teams for 2013!

I think the post which you quoted was referring to Marussia disappearing due to lack of funding and needing a pay driver in the seat. I'll go a step further and say that it's likely Glock's DTM career will be longer than the future of the current Marussia team in F1.

Maybe at his age, he is taking the ball and going home. Knows that at his age, getting a top ride in F1 is not going to happen, and unless he can start to buy a seat, F1 isn't going to work out for him much longer. In DTM, he gets not only a competitive seat, but will get a paid to race.

If I am not mistaken, Marussia wasn't even offered CA, thus their future in F1 is suspect, to put it mildly.
