I ended up going for the megabus eventhough i am walking distance to Euston. Was it a better option to get the train to Northampton or Milton Keynes and then hop on a shuttle bus (which possibly isn't a free service). Are there any other options re. getting there from London by public transport ?

Well I will see you in Stowe A
I reckon camp , pitch up on Friday with all you can carry and soak in a weekend in a baking hot field in Northamptonshire (your weather mileage may vary the value of English summers can go up as well as down) or drown in mud one way or another you will have more fun than 12 additional hours on a coach I can promise you that!
Regards Mike
