Not even close.

So nothing changes? Webber has never done as told.

Keep repeating that, it might come true if you tell yourself often enough. And elephants might grow on trees eventually as well :stoned: Fact is, Webber was very good today, he and his side of the garage pulled it off in the strategy department and they were AHEAD of Vettel after the final stops. Your argument is false.

Malaysian Grand Prix 2012 - Post Race Analysis/Observation,

Pretty good race if I recall.
The 2013 race however...

Very good sum up, race addicted.

I'd like to add, Alonso had not only to blame himself - going into Seb's behind was obviously out of his control, his car oversteering, Seb slowing down massively.
Not going into the pits I too did not understand but from what transpired Fernando himself did not see the full extent of the damage, he even retook Webber and the team failed to call him into the pits.

Great to see Lewis sincerely sorry for Nico - there is true friendship, it seems. Quite the contrary to RBR. Also, Ross Brawn with his calm, objective way kept the horses in the stable, while Christian Horner was not able to rein in his German horse.

:rotfl: Yeah, that tends to happen when you're too eager into a hairpin.

did not the vast majority of fans want 'real racing'?

But is it 'real racing' when the leading car has the engine turned down and then lets the other car past.

One one hand Vettel apologizes and says that the victory is Mark's. On the other hand Hamilton says Rosberg deserved his podium. What bizarre acts are these? If they think their position is someone else, why didn't they give it to them. I don't have words for this. They want to apologize, they are shameful of what they did, but they still want it and want to keep it. :|

Yeah, pretty absurd. Seb especially should've said there should be no team orders in the second race of the season and nothing else.

Well then, with that settled, at least the lack of objectivity is out there for all to see.

Yep. Vettel was clearly faster than Webber, meaning Webber being faster than Vettel was not close. Watching the races (and LT) would help.

So how come Webber managed to keep Vettel at relative arm's length until he turned down his engine?

Hulkenberg/Force India deserved a penalty for unsafe release into Raikkonen. Raikkonen had to brake hard and evade to the left to avoid the Force India. Seems like teams are getting too comfortable in attempting seamlessly joining position with an oncoming car at the pit lane. Not a good habit.

Haven't seen a podium with such "happy" winners since the days of Senna/Prost/Mansell wasp chewing contests.

I guess there was Austria 2002 and Indianapolis 2005 (well two out of the three), but in general yes, it was quite remarkable!

That podium was pretty "happy" as well:

Am new to the forums and a huge LH fan since he started racing, some may say to a fault and today I would have been happy with a 4th place for him. Nico was consistently faster than him by 0.3 to 0.5 seconds a lap since almost half race distance. I think Merc and Ross Brawn missed a huge trick today by not pitting in Nico before Lewis during the 3rd round of stops on lap 30/31. All the signs were there by then that Lewis was slower than Nico and RB surely knew about the fuel woes of Lewis. He should have pitted Rosberg on lap 30 who at that point was running 4th and only 4.5 seconds behind the race leader. He would have undercut at least one of the Red Bulls and Lewis easily and then he had the pace to make it stick in 2nd and perhaps even take 1st from RBR. Being a Lewis fan, I would have been happier with Nico in 1st and Lewis in 4th since it means that the gap (in WDC points) between Lewis and Vettel may have been lesser than what it stands at now. Today was a good opportunity for Merc to allow Rosberg to take points off all their rivals and help the whole team (Rosberg included), but they failed at that. I am pretty sure it sounded a lot like Lewis was being given the #1 driver status here and even though I am thrilled that Lewis is getting the #1 status, today would have worked out much better for the drivers and the team if they had let Rosberg take the fight to the Bulls.
