I'd like to add, Alonso had not only to blame himself - going into Seb's behind was obviously out of his control, his car oversteering, Seb slowing down massively.
Not going into the pits I too did not understand but from what transpired Fernando himself did not see the full extent of the damage, he even retook Webber and the team failed to call him into the pits.

Great to see Lewis sincerely sorry for Nico - there is true friendship, it seems. Quite the contrary to RBR. Also, Ross Brawn with his calm, objective way kept the horses in the stable, while Christian Horner was not able to rein in his German horse.

So how come Webber managed to keep Vettel at relative arm's length until he turned down his engine?

Hulkenberg/Force India deserved a penalty for unsafe release into Raikkonen. Raikkonen had to brake hard and evade to the left to avoid the Force India. Seems like teams are getting too comfortable in attempting seamlessly joining position with an oncoming car at the pit lane. Not a good habit.

Haven't seen a podium with such "happy" winners since the days of Senna/Prost/Mansell wasp chewing contests.

I guess there was Austria 2002 and Indianapolis 2005 (well two out of the three), but in general yes, it was quite remarkable!

Am new to the forums and a huge LH fan since he started racing, some may say to a fault and today I would have been happy with a 4th place for him. Nico was consistently faster than him by 0.3 to 0.5 seconds a lap since almost half race distance. I think Merc and Ross Brawn missed a huge trick today by not pitting in Nico before Lewis during the 3rd round of stops on lap 30/31. All the signs were there by then that Lewis was slower than Nico and RB surely knew about the fuel woes of Lewis. He should have pitted Rosberg on lap 30 who at that point was running 4th and only 4.5 seconds behind the race leader. He would have undercut at least one of the Red Bulls and Lewis easily and then he had the pace to make it stick in 2nd and perhaps even take 1st from RBR. Being a Lewis fan, I would have been happier with Nico in 1st and Lewis in 4th since it means that the gap (in WDC points) between Lewis and Vettel may have been lesser than what it stands at now. Today was a good opportunity for Merc to allow Rosberg to take points off all their rivals and help the whole team (Rosberg included), but they failed at that. I am pretty sure it sounded a lot like Lewis was being given the #1 driver status here and even though I am thrilled that Lewis is getting the #1 status, today would have worked out much better for the drivers and the team if they had let Rosberg take the fight to the Bulls.
