Silverstone camping 2013

I'm think going to Silverstone camping for the weekend. Can anyone recommend the best place to go for this. I know Silverstone has an official campsite but is it any good? Are there better ones? Are there pubs near by?
Obviously after the race I would prefer not to be stuck in queues for hrs on end if possible.....any tips to avoid this or anything else you can recommend would be helpful thanks.

We normally use Litchlake farm opposite the main gate. Always used to camp behind the Force India factory in the corner. We are going to Woodlands this year, group of lads we know used it last year and recommended it. They are going to Glastonbury this year though.

Not sure how far away the boozers are, Woodlands has a "pub" on site. But we've always just stuck to the fans we've bought. As for traffic, we always leave Monday, so wouldn't know.

For the last decade we (wife and now late teen sons) have camped at the SRA site down in the village. It's very friendly which apart from one or two isolated incidents over the years been great. The main problem is the 20 minute walk up to circuit which over the course of a 4 day weekend gets a bit old.
Last year we went to Woodlands, it's difficult to provide an objective assessment as the weather played havoc with things. Clearly a huge site with good facilities, I really liked the 'pub' no grifting on the prices and a nice atmosphere. We stayed in the family camping area, unfortunately our car was (because of the weather) a mile away which meant everything had to be walked. Good points were the fact that it was literally a 2 minute walk into the circuit and around to our seats at Stowe. Come Saturday evening and the mood really lifted great entertainment in the evening and everyone having fun. Getting out on the Sunday evening was quite a story in itself thanks to the Somme like conditions. I will limit myself to praising the site staff who worked like trojans to help as many people as possible in VERY difficult conditions, I can't praise them enough.

We are back at Woodlands this years, if the weather is good then we reckon it will be a fantastic place to be. If the weather is bad this year then screw it next year we are heading to New York!
