Does anyone recall Corrado Canneori driving a Chevron in the early 80s? The F2 register website shows him competing in "Trofeo Avon FISA de Formula 2000" in Italy during '84. Anything known? A photo would be marvellous!

Thanks in advance for any help,

Stuart

I have never heard of Formula 2000. Formula 3000, yes, or Formula Ford 2000 - was this a local Italian thing?

Yes indeed, Regazzoni, that is the championship in question. It is my guess that Canneori's car was a B38 Chevron, possibly painted in Italian colours (ie red/white/green) but I may be very wide of the mark! Knowing I'm wrong would be nearly as useful as knowing I'm right.

I don't suppose you have any photos with a red, white and green B38 lurking in the background? If your experience of lending a hand is like mine there's no time for photos....

Thanks for the responses,

Regards,

Stuart

OT - sorry - but I had no idea Tino Brambilla was still racing, and winning, in this series as late as 1984:

Hm. Wasn't that, rather, Carlo Brambilla, Vittorio's son?

No, no, he was definitely the great Tino (at the time 60-year-old!)

Winner of the series in 1984 was Romano Zani in a Martini-Alfa Romeo.

Years later Corrado Canneori founded team CA.AL. Racing, competing in touring-car races. Vitantonio Liuzzi drove a Mercedes-Benz for CA.AL. Racing in the Superstars Series in 2011.

Born in 1934, Nanni, so 'only' 50 in 1984, but still pretty impressive against all the young chargers.

So, when was it then that Carlo Brambles raced? It must've been right about that time, too, if memory isn't playing tricks on me, is it?
