That 175 Yamaha was his own creation and consisted of half a TZ350 engine, he had quite a lot of success with it.

That's it Eric, a lovely piece of kit.
Jim had it on the island a few years ago for a parade lap, I hadn't seen him for about 25 years and bumped into him by chance in the paddock so we had a good old catch up.
I used to buy a lot of my TZ parts from Jim, and also fairings when he ran his moulding business.

He rides at Aintree every now and again.I think he also has a 350 Aermacchi if I remember rightly.

I've seen him a couple of times at the Jurby Festival.Always generates a lot of interest.
I didn't realise how many photos I'd taken all those years ago,so I'll keep posting them for as long as I can, although it's getting a bit harder to find the ones that are worth putting on.I've still got a few left though.I wish I'd taken more over the years now.Never bothered between 1971 to 1979 and from 1981 until about 3 years ago.

No,it's just the way the photo turned out.It was taken at Flookburgh which is an old airfield,so the surface was tarmac although it wasn't the smoothest.

Is that cobble stone?
No, it wasn't quite that bad but that shot is the exit of the fastest corner on the track, the left after the start/finish, I became closely acquainted with that earth bank, May '79, smashed my TZ to bits.

And here I thought, what's Phil Read doing in a clubbie...
Yes an unfortunate blend of designs that day with the jacket too!! I was never a Phil Read fan, and I was only wearing the lid as a local dealer gave it to me after i'd smashed mine at Carnaby and couldnt afford another, he took pity on me and said as he was struggling to shift the Read reps he would donate one to me, I should have taken it home and painted it really!!

Yes Tony. Although, James Corden doesn't wear glasses, at least Granty had a tash!
