Who's going?

What did you see?

As per Hack, this year there is LIVE coverage from the MainStage on autosport.com.

Good news - from Thursday-Sunday you'll be able to watch the main stage at @Autosport_Show LIVE on http://t.co/NqwX6TrLFE #ASI15

I worked the show years ago lighting Goodyear's Hall of Fame of 72 F1 cars.

Here's hoping it can bounce back after last year's pathetic show. I'd enjoyed all previous ones.

The list of "star" names due to attend seems the weakest ever this year, but I'll still be going despite myself. The fact that I get free travel may be a big factor in that.

Haven't been to the show for several years (since no longer living in UK) , what's wrong with last year's show ?

Seemed to be less of everything, from racing cars to book stalls. I pride myself on getting lost every year, but it seemed so scaled down last year that I couldn't even do that.

I'm telling myself it was just a blip, as I used to love this show. It's always been expensive, but I was one of the few that thought it good value - until last year.

Which cretin thought it was a good idea to book a car show in London for exactly the same weekend?  Is this the first step in the typical pro-Cockney bollocks that infects this country to kill the Autosport show for being in the Midlands?

Used to be the Boat Show that conflicted.
I remember Nigel saying he had to scarper off in the middle of signing autographs for the little kiddies.

30 odd quid, 11 quid to park.

Most expensive meeting of the year for me

Hence not gong for the umpteenth year.

Its a trade show with a token nod towards fans and thousands are daft enough in the off season to pay a highly inflated price to enter.

Silly really unless you need to buy kit or can get in cheaper.

Oh hang on might it be cheaper to offer a ticket without having to go to the durge of the live show?

We couldnt possibly offer that could we?

I went a few years ago with the missus, really enjoyed it along with the Piston Heads Performance Car show. Really good day out, great way to spend a Saturday in January. Maybe it was a particularly good year when we went judging by the negative comments on here. There was a massive McLaren display including loads of old GP cars and the (then new) MP4-12C. Loads of exotics that I was interested in, a great show by Fifth Gear in the main arena as well as the previous years F1 cars on display. The live guests were the BBC F1 crew at the time - so Jake Humphrey, Martin Brundle etc. Jody Scheckter also gave an interview. I really enjoyed it.

I went last year and the previous one I had been to was 2006. Before that I attended several times but usually on Press Day. I didn't think last years show was bad at all. I was surprised how little the crowd were F1 fans though. Brundle and Croft asked for cheers for each form of motorsport and I would say F1 got the quietest cheer despite being the main focus of the show. Brundle made a joke out of it and said he wasn't surprised. Quite a few of the larger manufacturers were absent I noticed from previous visits but a lot has changed since 2006 I suppose. I would go again. :)

2006 was probably my favourite year there actually - sadly this year's was just as bad as last. Only ONE bookshop (but at least it wasn't Chaters), and very few racing cars on display, although I will never tire of seeing Lotus 38s, even if merely 38/7.
