Great but its one ticket and shared accommodation with a colleague from another branch. Not my thing at all.
I'd really like to take my gf but I cant get her the same ticket.
What I'm wondering is, do grandstand tickets allow access to the general admission areas?
I've asked the competition management but they don't seem to know and cant find any info on the ticket sites.

General admission areas are available to anyone who can get into the circuit.

If I had a GS ticket for the main straight, I would choose to just use the ticket to get into the circuit and then, without a shadow of doubt, watch the race from the grassy banks on the outside of Becketts - its one of the best places in the world to watch an F1 car at full beans. You'll have to get there early to claim a good spot.

Have to agree with that. The main straight is a very poor place to watch the race from. The gates open at 6 and there is always a queue by then of people trying to getting the prime positions, so check what the transport arrangements are as you may want to make alternative plans if you go GA.
