NASCAR at Laguna - No.

Indycar on Watkins short course - Jesus, that's fast

Indycar on 1.5 high banked ovals. Fuuuuuuuuu....

Indycar at Talladega - The car spun every corner, it made no sense to me.

Indycar at Indy - So so nice.

Nah, I had the car trimmed at Taladega.  Turn 5 was the tricky bit, he rest was a high-banked bore.

On the other hand, there was a short track (Bristol?) that was flat out nuts!

With both drivers involved in a championship battle, Smith vowed Dillon and the #3 team would not win the XFINITY Series title if he has anything to do with it. "I guarantee you, I may have lost the championship today, but he sure as hell did, too," Smith said of Dillon. Back from MotoGP at Indy. After 33,33% of the race, I see that I didn't miss anything.

Aren't they able to remember the names of the drivers ?

What is up the 11 hitting the 5, etc. ?

Still better than A1GP in which the cars were referred to by country.

It's not really lazy. It's the way it has been for many years.

Besides, the numbers in NASCAR are far more synonymous than they are in F1. The majority of NASCAR fans know the drivers by their numbers. The 11 is Hamlin, 5 is Kahne, 14 Tony Stewart, 18 Kyle Busch, 48 Jimmie Johnson, 88 Earnhardt Jr etc...

At this rate, it'll finish when the sportscar race at Road America will finish.

I know how NASCAR fans are looked at, but this way they are just reaffirming it.

That's a bit harsh. It's a North America racing thing to reffer to a driver by the number of their car. MotoGP does that too.
