Apologies gents, I’m only just back from a torturous drive from Nottingham so won’t be joining you for dinner. However I may well drop by a little later for a drink.
Rob
Too late, we've gone home.
Sorry we missed you

I’m out of practice with long journeys in the sun, traffic and a suit. It made me feel for those not fortunate enough to mainly be able to drive when you choose and dressed how you wish. I was knocked out after a ridiculously long three hour journey from Nottingham. And it wasn’t in the A40.
Personally weather wise I’ll be glad when we return to a normal English summer - rain, occasional sunshine, green lawns and adequately filled reservoirs.
Hope to catch up sometime soon.
Rob

It is scheduled for Wednesday 14th November at the Kilton Inn, at Mere, on the A50 between Knutsford and junction 20A of the M6 near High Legh. Scheduled start time is 7.30pm. The content will be different from the VSCC presentation I gave in February and will encompass both contemporary and historic racing but all the images will be from the pre-digital era.
It will be good to see some old friends there. Not sure yet whether you need to book but I will advise in due course.

Hello
Will there be a meeting next year? If I have money to travel to UK, which I am gathering, I'd like to attend.
Best Regards

Hi Guilherme, I'm sure there will be a Northern meeting or two next year, although they are few and far between these days. Not sure whether it will merit travelling all the way from Portugal just for a meeting, but it would be great to meet you if you manage it.Hello

Congratulations to Roger Clark and Tony Pashley (2F-001) for trouncing the opposition with a clear win, Tony having trooped all the way up from London to take part while it was good to put a face to the name of dwh43scale (David Harbey), whose photos I have long admired and who had travelled from Milton Keynes. Hats off to master model-maker Tim Dyke who scored a perfect 5 out of 5 for the anagram section.
Thanks again to Andrew Swift for his generous hospitality and for putting on another entertaining programme of events this year with some great speakers at the country's premier motor sport gallery.

Having not visited the Gallery before, I’m very glad I arrived early enough for a good look around beforehand; I could not have been made more welcome by Andrew and his colleagues.
The breadth and quality (not to mention the sheer scale) of the collection is astounding, matched (as indicated above by Alan) by the hospitality. I very much hope to return.
Whilst there, I could not resist buying a print from Simon Owen’s ‘Racing Colours Collection’: a graphic representation of the BRM P261 livery. The green-with-orange-noseband is like my Caterham - and fittingly my print is, coincidentally, No. 7!

Likewise, it was good to finally meet Alan Cox who I know now I have seen a various motorsport events around the country.
A testing quiz, excellent pies and good company made for an entertaining evening. Thanks to Andrew and his excellent team.
Looking forward to the new season ...

It wouldn't be just for the meeting, I may go with my Mother to visit an old friend of our parents (my Ftaher has to stay here because of his work), and perhaps visit a circuit or some collection. Or just catch a train and offer my Mother her chance to come back to Wales.

Is it worth considering a meeting before the end of the year? I’m on holiday for the next two weeks so the next Thursday I can make is the 29th.
Is there any interest in another meeting prior to the end of the year. The lack of response seems to indicate that there isn't!

As we seem to have stalled somewhat... why don't we combine a NW TNF meeting with some other event? Oulton, Donington… dare I suggest it... Swift Gallery (I got my legs chopped orf last time I suggested that)?

Posted 18 April 2019 - 06:47
No problem with any just so long as they don't clash with other events.
May I suggest if we do get together at a race meeting we also call in at a local hostelry for a meal on the way home?

i'm all in favour of the Sergeant's suggestion. Post Donington, anyone?
As for Swift Gallery I'm not yet in a position to offer any dates but please keep a visit (or more!) in mind.

As we, collectively, do not seem to be able to organise a piss-up in a pub... how about we attempt to at least assemble in an unruly mob at the Gold Cup?

OK guys, let’s see if we can at least get some of us together. I’m working, so will be there every day; also will have a Lotus in the clubs display area.
Where will you be and on which day(s)?

Saturday I plan to be in and around the paddock in the morning and then trackside in the afternoon. Not sure where I'll be trackside just somewhere I can get reasonable pics without catch fencing.

Change of plans, due to aggravating an old hip injury I'll not be going as I don't want to make it worse and be limited to what I can do at Harewood the following day.

Slightly O/T, but I'm missing my Tauranac/Ralt/Honda book. Have I lent it to to anyone on here? Don't need it back yet, but I'd like to know where it may be!!
