http://f1manager.info/ will get you to F1 Manager where an Atlas League has been created for Forumers on this board.

The password for Atlas F1 is Autosport.

The rules are straight forward.

You start with a 100 mil budget.

You buy 2 drivers, a car and an engine.

Bonus points for Qualifying time.

Lets see if we can make this as much fun as it has been in the past.

Team Zauber is in.

You can come and lament in this thread after every race.

Joined. This will be a real struggle.

BTW, I didn't have to put in a password. Is that as intended?

When I set up Atlas F1 as a league, it asked me to create a password.

If it's not required, that's even better.

This should be fun. 2016 is such an uncertain year.

I'm looking forward to the league competition.

I suspect our bunch is better informed than the average.

If we do well it is because of our insight.

If we do poorly, I'm sure it's just bad luck.

So I hired a complete team without reading the rules. Would it have been better (or even possible?) to just buy a few top items and buy the rest later?

Following an off season fraught with low funds, low motivation and many hangovers, team Jackomonster is once again pleased to announce it shall once again inflict itself upon F1 for another season.

Team personnel and rolling stock to be announced whenever we decide to extract the finger...

Can you (or someone else in the know) resume the rules and best tactics in a few sentences?

Entered The Racing Elfs too, it's their first season so they don't really have any idea what is expected from them but they will try to do their best.

I now see that we can password protect or not. Let's opt for not.

For rules, the best place is probably the FAQ page:

How does the scoring work for this?

Does the chassis earn more points or anything etc?

Or is all them equal and depends on what you choose?

See the FAQ.

You get 2.000.000 per race regardless if you scored any points just having a complete team is enough.

You can earn some extra cash when you guessed the pole time right. The more accurate you are the more money you earn.

You get 50.000 per point you score with your complete team (incomplete teams don't get points)

You get points for all of your team items (driver 1, driver 2, chassis and engine).

Only the first 10 in the qualify and the race get points.

The point distribution is as follows:
Qualify: (Drivers)
1. 25
2. 18
3. 15
4. 12
5. 10
6. 8
7. 6
8. 4
9. 2
10.1

Race (Drivers)
1. 50
2. 36
3. 30
4. 24
5. 20
6. 16
7. 12
8. 8
9. 4
10.2

Qualify & Race: (Chassis and Engine)
1. 25
2. 18
3. 15
4. 12
5. 10
6. 8
7. 6
8. 4
9. 2

Darn time zone. Q2 just started.

I didn't get my qualifying in on time.

Would go with 1m25.124S.

I personally did awful.

Counting on the rest of you.

AtlasF1 scored 19th out of 50,

So, better than average after the first race.

I think they waited until all the FIA protests were resolved.

I did much worse than I thought. Slipped from 28th to 32nd.

Look at gringo go!

Our league also slipped some. We need to do better.

Actually, we are doing fine. It's our picked teams and drivers that need to do better. ;)

Metz, where are you seeing league positions? Maybe it's only available to you as the league owner. I'm doing my best, p3 but who the hell is gringo?

Jarno who owns this site has updated this morning. Not sure that I'm particularly happy with the fact that at least 29 people cheated and added the qually time after qually was complete. All should have been excluded but he chose to add 4 tenths to their time. His site so his rules I suppose.

Anyway, situation after update,

WHAT?!

He'd bollocksed up the countdown clock, he says this was due to the time difference, at least 29, those that he saw immediately, filled in their qually time anything up to 2 hours after qually had completed. Some of the tossers were bragging about it in the thread.  :(

Decent result this time around!
Does anyone know how much extra points pole time gives and how it works? I got it exactly right (as I presume more people may have this time with it being a 1:22.000), but I have the same amount of points as a lot of others who I presume are on the same team as me.

Check ot the FAQ on the site.

This is from the site. Well done if you went for 1.22.000 you'll earn 10m. I was 2/10ths out.

The pole time allows you to estimate the pole position time of the Q3 qualification. When you fill in the pole time very accuratly you can earn some extra budget for the race. You don't get any points for it.

When guessing the pole time very accuratly you can earn some serious extra budget:
Difference in ms - Budget
0 - 10.000.000
<11 - 2.000.000
<51 - 1.500.000
<101 - 1.000.000
<201 - 750.000
<301 - 500.000
<401 - 250.000
<501 - 100.000

If you are off more than half second you don't earn any extra money.

I'm glad we have gringo on our league.

First overall pulls our average up.

Just how does he do it?

Of course before Monaco Zauber dumped Hulkenberg for Max at great expense.

What a mistake. Both my Max and Grosjean did nothing

It's sad when most of my points come from McLaren

Bring on Canada!

Who the hell is Gringo? Maybe a figment of someone's imagination on the site, 'cos he appears quite frequently. I've got to believing that Gringo is merely the perfect score each week.Unachievable in reality. It's even more strange that the team isn't accessible.
