I have just treated myself to these slot cars and I think Scalextric have done a great job with them.

Very nice. But the cynic in me asks what will happen to the aerofoils after a few "offs"

Not a problem at all, they are well made. I race a Chaparral E and an F and they also survive any amount of shunts.
