Jep I received my PS4 version already today from my gameshop here in Switzerland.

I played so far only a fast race with Kimi in Monza.. Qualy in rain of course... :stoned:  even with TC on you are having a hard time with the throttle.. you really need to be patient, otherwise you are losing the control of the car.. happend two or three times out of Parabolica.

I'm still thinking to buy a wheel for it - but still unsure..

I'm jealous. 2 more day's for me.

I believe EA Sports had different developers for the console and PC games at the time.

Indeee. The console games was made by Visual Science I think. While PC was made by ISI (of Sports Car GT and rFactor fame

I play with a controller on PS4 and I think the game is better than the previous ones, if you're in to all the set up stuff, they have tyre wear comparisons from your runs as well as overall times and picking the strategy at the start of the race is more flexible. Manual starts is something new they added as well which makes it harder to just fly past everyone at the start. Although like any F1 game I still have tyre wear issues compared to the rest of the field  (in F1 2015 in full distance I'd normally come in 2-3 laps before everyone else but in this so far its more like 6-7, kind of frustrating), also AI still have no idea how to overtake

More impression will follow soon...

I'm still thinking to buy a wheel.. ;> are you guys playing with a pad or wheel?

Got my copy through the post yesterday (Netherlands).

Haven't been able to try it yet but will in the weekend. I ordered a Thrustmaster T150 from Amazon which should arrive tomorrow. Apparently this is one of the best budget wheels with FFB available so looking forward to trying it out.

So far the game seems to be getting pretty good reviews.

I used a wheel on 2015 a few times and it was really great, I imagine it's just as good or even better in this game.

I'm really enjoying the game so far. It's really challenging although I spin in almost every qualy/race. I can't even take eau rouge full throttle now.

Development seems too easy. Why have a 10 season career mode when you can get Manor to the front in 3?

DRS and slipstream is unrealistic and exaggerated.

AI still infuriate me, they jump out of the way if you're down their inside, and also the outside line whilst defending or attacking is too effective. Rarely do we see any grip IRL yet in the game you can stick with anyone around the outside, it's silly.

Lockup animations look weird, ultra softs are too bright, pit-in animation is wrong, engine sounds still strange. All round presentation is below par. Cars look like trams, all magnetically glued to the identical line.

If you don't want the Manor to get so good in so little time. Then do less R&D testing.... Slipstream is a bit OP but I find DRS underpowered. There can't be perfect AI. This is probably the best AI of the F1 games. The other complaints are very little and fixable by Codemasters.

The best AI you get with Ultimate difficulty, but I'm too slow for that yet.

I'm running on expert, but will change soon to Legend, once I got a feeling for my new G29.

For wheel problems have a look here: http://forums.codema...ue-look-in-here

The game is not perfect and it is not really a hardcore sim but I am enjoying it a lot so far. Using a wheel (T150) for the first time and have to say that makes it even better.

What I find a bit daft is your teammate in the same car is still just as slow as ever despite development taking it a top 3 team. I was kind of hoping it would improve your whole teams performance.

I just bought this game today and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Time trials are a lot of fun online.

got it on PS4 and started a career at Williams, enjoying it a lot.  Won the first 3 races on hard difficulty with a controller.  Will bump it up to the next difficulty for Sochi.  A1 are better than f12015 and I am liking the car development and practice set up tasks.   Need to gets me a wheel to really enjoy it I think.

I made the switch from the pad to the wheel yesterday on the PS4.

It's quite hard at the beginning to find the right wheel settings (also with the Force Feedback), get back on speed and looking for the tires. :drunk:

I just need to spend more time and get used to it, but I am enjoying it a lot so far.

Bought it for the PC yesterday and tried a few laps.  I don't think it is a driving simulator by any means but it is highly polished and a lot of fun.

I'd recommend it.

Bought it for PS4 and started my career with Haas on Legend difficulty. I have only done the Australian GP at 50% race distance so far but I loved it. I need traction control at the moment or I always crash, but I will give that up later in the season. It is hard enough for me without flashbacks, abs and the race line atm.

Not really impressed by the AI, it seems for most of the race they drive in a conga line and are prone to crash into each other. Qualified 9th for the race, I was running 7th with 4 laps to go but got crashed by a Williams trying to unlap itself after a previous collision. Was not impressed with that lol

This is by far the best F1 game CM has ever released. Love the handling. But yeah, the AI needs to be patched.

Agreed, by far. Also love the fact the T-cam is editable, you can make it just like the one on tv.

Been doing a number of quick races at Spa.  This game is excellent.  Highly polished, driving model a lot better than I first realized, good enough AI, tense, great graphics, just an excellent game.

They ruined the T-cam with the new patches.  ):  There's no generic T-cam anymore for every car, so editing it to a good standard T-cam is now useless, because there's a different T-cam view for every car now...

My first ever 100% race (always usually do 50%) the other day saw a blood and guts defensive drive to hold third place in a Renault on legend difficulty - then the tyre popped on the last lap. I know these things happen but grrr. Haven't had the heart to try another since.

I am currently sucking at this game at just about everything. I'm used to the Xbox gamepads having the vibrations coming through the triggers, on Ps4 this feels non-existent so I never really know when I am about to lock up or spin the tires. Yep, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

For those wanting to give the game a try at a discounted price, it's now in the last days of this series' usual 'first F1 weekend' sale at Steam.

It'll be about €20 in most countries.

F1 2016 is excellent, but oddly I've barely played it really, and it's been out for months. No idea why. Lately I've been going back to the older games. As a kid I went through a season a year, with Benetton, starting in 1998 with the N64 World Grand Prix games. I kept a record of every season. Won my first race in 2001, won my first World Championship in 2005. Then stopped, because 1. I realised it was all a bit autism-tastic, and 2. I discovered it was probably more fun to drink and unsuccessfully chase girls instead.

So at the age of almost 32 I dug out F1 Championship Edition, chose the Fisichella Renault and did it all again. And it was great. It was like rolling back a decade, like I'd never been away to get married, buy a house, get a job, all that pointless stuff.

Then there's no game for 2007-8 and no decent one for 2009, so next step is to start working through the Codemasters games.

I'll get back to F1 2016 eventually then, probably after my wife leaves me.
