Pop-up ads have been absent for the last 24 hours. Will let you know if I see anything else.

I’m getting the same redirecting “wonderfulgiftforbirthday” ads now as Tim. iOS Safari and Firefox on iPhone and iPad in the UK. A lot worse than previous as well - I’m talking 75% of the threads I click on. Makes the forums almost unusable.

This is now getting extremely tedious:

https://eu.bestrewar...1zaXRlZG9tYWlu#

Why, why oh why can this not be dealt with? Can the people responsible for sorting this out not see that this, along with all the app store redirects, is so obviously ruining the enjoyment of so many of us on these forums?

Yep. This is my experience too. Awful and unusable most of the time. Horrific.

Lamest type of advert too, I genuinely wonder how many customers these adverts actually generate. Annoying beyond description!!

I had some irritating ads in the forums which had an OS alert prompt popup trying to get me to click to download something from the App Store. I could get around this if I clicked the cancel loading button before the page had finished loading, so presumably the Ad scripts were only being invoked on page load.

Seems to not happen today.

WTF is going on with these browser hijack adds?

Getting an "Amazon" popup redirect on IOS.

These are very hard to clear and totally unacceptable. I'm just going to stop visiting the site on IOS and block the hell out of everything on my laptop.

Just to let you know that we're not ignoring the redirects and browser hijackings.

Our guys are trying to work with the ad networks and the AdTech providers to find a way to block these entirely and to make them impossible (so that they can't be triggered even if a dodgy bid does win out in one of the ad networks) and they're promising me an update very soon...

I'll let you know as soon as I know more!

Thanks Simon. I don’t envy you or the providers having to deal with this sort of thing.

Download 'KaBlock' for iPhone from the App Store. Seems to have solved the issue for me.

Something from cpafireboost to orgeles-hantests to mediatrackapi to server3.cybertoothtiger.info

I had not had one since August, but I've just had a re-direct from the same source.

I’m getting redirect ads again after a good few months of nothing. It’s also one of the really annoying ones you can’t press the back button on. iOS 12/iPhone 6s in the UK. Happens on both Safari and Firefox.

I’m now getting the “webpulse” one on every thread. It’s making browsing on mobile impossible as it redirects enough to fill up your history and make pressing the back button irrelevant.

I don’t usually post here but I enjoy reading these forums daily. I’m getting the same as above, iOS 12 on iPhone using safari browser. It started a few days ago and it seems to be getting worse.

Hasn’t happened to me yet on any main forum page but when I go into a thread (including this one!) i’m getting redirected to this junk a lot.

Thanks for the reports, all.

I thought that some of the changes we made towards the end of last year had solved this problem once and for all, but it looks like it's all gone wrong again. I'll have a chat with our ads team...

Appreciate your efforts, Simon.

I’m now getting this one on nearly every thread and reloading isn’t helping matters.

The issue is no longer there. Someone must have identified and removed the annoying "ad", since it only happened on Saturday, and everything was fine again yesterday. :)

We're trying to get these fixed with our advertising networks, but there's a bit of whack-a-mole going on here...

Just a reminder that if you include your country, device and browser, that would really help us!

I'm not sure it belongs here (maybe it's a problem with my Firefox?) but recently the Autosport page turns to a full screen ad page:

https://s.cluba92.da...67086804074844#

Only happens when I'm reading forums.autosport, com

Anything to do with adverts run wild?

Is there any way to kill off adverts that run before videos for those of us with Plus subscriptions? I just skip over those articles at the moment, as I'm in the US and I get mostly unskippable 60 second pharmaceutical ads.

I'm getting one, i think it might be Autosport itself, saying "do you want to influence the future of Motorsport" or something similar. They pop up on the front page of Autosport, there is an X but it doesn't seem to do anything. I can still use the Autosport menu in the background so can access the forum

I am not sure whether it is even worth posting this: it is a minor irritation of a type for which Autosport is far from the worst offender.

The fact is that I have been a subscriber for almost as long as Autosport went digital: and yet this morning after my daily visit, I go back to my facebook page - to be confronted with a couple of ads on my timeline, urging me to subscribe to Autosport!

Am I alone in thinking that tracking cookies are an irritating menace, that do the opposite to the advertisers claims that they are intended to make the surfer's experience more enjoyable?

Fairly confident they're going to argue that the ad free environment does not extend to the fora. I won't be renewing in June on that basis.

As an added bonus the forum now run like treacle waiting for the ads to load.....

I get ads appearing as banners across the bottom of my screen, that's fine, i don't subscribe and there's a big X to hit to get rid. But a few times this week the I've been getting a bigger ad, seems to be twice as high, without an X as well. What this does is stops me from getting rid of the ad when I'm at the bottom of the page the arrows to have to next/previous page and back to forum are not available as the ad covers them
