Thanks to a lucky coincidence I was offered a pass to the Monaco GP, the kind that is supposedly available to residents of Monaco for free. I didn't know such a thing existed and after some googling I still haven't found much evidence about it. I can't directly ask the person who has it for details, all I've been told is that this is some kind of GA standing pass. Maybe more limited in its scope than usual GA tickets, but it should at least allow you to have a direct sight of the track.

Does anyone know anything about it? Could it be that it's Thursday-only? As much as I'd love to spend all four days there, I can only arrange a weekend trip, and it would be a bummer to find out that I can't enter with this pass on race day.

Is that one not free on a first come, first serve basis?

I have no idea - but I think you can buy tickets for 'La Roche' so I think it has been monetised by F1.

When I went there were tickets required but surprisingly cheap by Monegasque standards and we perched up on the rock - not on the ath way - but actually climbed up into the trees - there are a couple of clearings  on the rocks which offer a great view. When i go again I'll certainly be going there - a great view of the track and genuinely not too expensive. Do not consider gogint to high up if you're not steady on your feet though - no regard for health and safety here at all.
