Having been away for some time doing ones day job, posting a compilation of RDV columns in Race Car Engineering for the holiday break reading list.

Rants for all tastes, or not as the case might be.

I am a huge fan of your RCE columns, Ricardo.

It's the only thing I read without fail in the motorsport press, never miss one. Wish only there could be more.

As I already suggested in a PM sometime ago, you should seriously consider writing a book of memories or on any other motorsport* subject of your fancy. You couldn't fail.

*EDIT: motorsport / engineering

 Good to know there are readers out there. Current quest is to give something back to the sport I love, mainly for young engineers, there should be something coming out this year when I finish rebuilding my office and computers array and get to business.

Given my lack of organization and black-belt level procrastination a book might take some time. There is a putative "101 race car design." owed to a publisher for 5 years now, and the companion volume "Race team, how it works" to go with the (Unashamed plug here) Michael Krumm's "Racing on the edge.", and that took three years to write, mainly because of Michael's application and the fact of having a lot of spare time in Japan in the evenings between races.

Another couple of projects to nail down and one might finally get to do it.

The 101 race car design would go very well with your design of the new Brazilian Formula Vee car, perhaps it may be useful as one of the examples, together with some other bigger formula cars, taken from your long and varied career.

I believe also that you would be the best person to write and set the record straight on the Copersucar / Fittipaldi cars F1 adventure. I would think that alone would easily sell quite a bit of copies between Brazil and Europe.

...one day, one day. The year started out with good intentions, but then got dragged into a slew of projects, obviously having a (metaphoric) long white beard qualifies you do mess around with all sort of things.

Pulled back into Blancpain Endurance, we have two GT-Rs to play with one new , one old, plus finally into Historics, doing the Masters Endurance Championship with one of my old drivers, with some tasty kit, a Panoz GT1, a HPD ARX3, and a Ferrari 333. Lurking in the background a Pug 908 FAP (the one that was 2nd at LM24 in 2012ish, a Toy GT1, a LMP1 BMW-V12, sister car to the one that won LM, all being rebuilt, and a Viper Gt1.

Will be nice to race cars one raced against at the time....but the cherry on the cake is an electric hypercar in China, 1400HP with autonomous function and ironically, the opposing hydrogen power hypercar in Europe...gives a nice step into future trends....love working with V1.0 tech.

However it seems to have swallowed the year again, so much for fading gradually into retirement, up to 24 races this year. Better than the usual 40, but with Europe, US, China and Brasil as locations will be sleeping an awful lot in planes again.

The Fvee is still languishing half-built, we are now into the third engine iteration, working with manufacturers is @£$%&....

Ah, also involved in the rebuild of two of my old F1s, one in Italy, one in the UK, target= Monaco this year....
