The McLaren MP4/2 was one of my favourite F1 cars, so I decided to make a little diorama out of it.  The models are in 1/20 scale, consists of both the Studio27 and BeeMax MP4/2B models from the 1985 season.  I included some of the team personnel at that time in my diorama, including Ron Dennis, John Barnard, Joe Rameriz and the two drivers, Niki Lauda and Alain Prost.   The pit garage is not completely finished yet but hopefully will be completed within the next week - I've been working on this project since last August.  Hope you like what you see.

Happy new year, just want to share some new images for my little project.  This time it's the Lotus team from the same 1985 season.

What's Keke doing there, spying on Lotus?

Nope.  He'd run out of cigarettes so he was trying to scrounge some from Lotus as he preferred JPS to Marlboro.   :smoking:   ;)

What's Johnny White doing there with Keke, Alain, Niki and Ayrton? And Elio seems to have struck a good deal there with Keke, a pack of fags in exchange for a data readout from Honda!!

1985 1/20 Williams pit (still some bits of work to complete the diorama fully) - took a lot o effort to find 3 FW10s  over the years.

Interesting that you asked about the Minardi - I did build one 1/20 Minardi M185 a few years ago, but because its a super rare kit, I only have one and one car does not make a garage but it has been my wish to include the Minardi in my 1985 diorama as i think it's one of the prettiest F1 car / livery.

The good thing is, after around 5 years of searching, I finally found a second M185 kit and it will be delivered to me in about 2 weeks time.  By that time, I will start building the second Minardi and the pit diorama.  I have posted the hiring of the team mechanics and will start interviewing them shortly   :stoned:

I'm not sure Minardi had a spare car in 1985... ?

yes Minardi had a spare car for some of the races - they built 4 M185 in total.

Kudos for research!

In fact, it looks like they had a spare for every race, who'd have thought!
