The programme is scheduled for 4.40am on April 6th (check time) and is due to be repeated a week or so later.
Mike Hawthorn competed succesfully at both the 1951 Gamston meetings in his Riley, so it is highly likely that pictures of him will be included.
Worth setting the recorder for.

It's an interesting period piece...

Seems to be 4:40 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. on 7th in these parts so I've set it to be recorded and we'll see if that schedule's correct.

For non-insomniacs it will also be shown again on Tuesday May 1st at the more civilised hour of 16.10!
Also just a heads up that for anyone who watches TP on Sky: it will be moving from channel 343 to channel 328 (currently Movies 24 +1) on that day. (All other channels, including Freesat, unchanged!) That would seem to indicate that they're making a go of it.

An interesting, but not very interesting, period piece. As said above (or on the linked old thread) it was the S&HMC meeting on 14 May 1951 (not "late 1950s" as the TV people labelled it) and the results are on p275 of the June 1951 Motor Sport.
The racing shots make me think that the wide open spaces of the runways used would have a modern look, were it not for the rope as the sole crowd-protection element!
A lot of familiar names to be seen, such as Gillie Tyrer, Len Gibbs, Edgar Wadsworth and (I assume) J.M. Hawthorne who should be J.M. Hawthorn, many of whom had been award-winners at the Waterloo & D M C speed trials two days before and 100+ miles away at Altcar on the Lancashire coast.
