Please, i'm creatinga very huge archive of car races results from 1878. Someone can give me the full results of the Semmering Hillclimb 1899 and full results of german road races 1899-1900? thanks!

I doubt it, Ray. Even the late Martin Pfundner, in his history of Austrian motor sport, dismissed the 1899 Semmering climb as dominated by motorised tricycles and didn't even mention the winner's name (Arnold Spitz, De Dion Bouton 2ΒΌ hp). Hans's list suggests the only entrants were tricycles. There might be something more in the Austrian press of the time, of course ...

For example, by using the Austrian press link - from "Neue Freie Presse", Vienna, 28 August 1899:

The Historians should be grateful for that.

thank you very much! i use already a lot of sources like "locomotion automobile", "Allgemeine Automobil-Zeitung", "Motor-Car Journal", "Auto-car Journal", "Automobil Revue", "L'Auto-Velo", "Das Auto", "Auto motor und sport" but i don't find archives of german races from end of XIX centuries until 1939, only some reports on other sources...
for english races i have the DVD of Motorsport Magazine from 1924, but there are other sources online? again thanks!

Hi Roberto,
be careful with old Motorsport Magazine articles, I have found tons of errors about early motoring, so always double check the infos you find on that magazine. For the Germans/Austrian races, I dont know nothing better that http://anno.onb.ac.at/, the search engin is very powerful and is quite easy to find articles by keyword, year, theme, newspaper, etc.

The last one too is from ANNO. This website, like other online libraries, not always are indexed by google; you must use their own search engines. ANNO search is here.

For a list of resources, the sticky post is a good starting point
