Williams CVT 1993

I have a vague recollection that Williams contiuned testing the CVT gearbox in 1993, even after it was announced that CVT gearboxes were banned. Can anyone confirm or deny this? 

CVT development in F1 would have produced significant "real world" benefits but of course it had to be banned because the cars would sound strange.

Same goes for flux capacitors.

I believe this to be true, as Williams did analyse this further. Right up to the time the '93 season ended if I recall correctly. I remember an article by Keith Collantine (F1Fanatic/Racefans) where he said that teams, sometimes, went on with testing even when it was announced the said part they were testing would be banned. Benetton had done this with their 4 wheel steering mechanism. Williams also with their CVT gearbox.
