Hi, don't know if it's only me but I noticed that the mobile version of the forum is randomly slow.

On my iPhone, the blue line under the address bar often takes long time to fully load.

The mobile version is obviously very light so it's a bit strange that this is happening.

Anybody else?

Do you also use the main Autosport site? If so, are both parts of the site doing this, or just the forums?

We've changed a few of our advertising partners in the past couple of weeks. Usually that would be my first suspicion, but you've included a screenshot of a page where we're not running any of the new ad formats...

Yeah I also use the main site, as far as I remember that one seems to be ok.

I think it's only happening in the forum.

As someone living on the road five years now with my iPhone as my only online means, I think I can unequivocally say this issue is strictly one of signal strength -- and connectivity games that have become daily with "service" providers.

Meaning, next time it happens, try:
-- powering phone down and wait a minute -- taking note of service speed (3G, 4G, or LTE) and signal strength;
-- power phone up and you will likely see an immediate boost in connection type or quality.

If online and using data, I do this every hour or when speed drops and it's worked every single time. My conclusion is cell providers are screwing with signal strength when their bandwidth is high. Just another reason to despise them, AT&T sucks in my case. Never experienced this, ever, with other providers, though.

Edit: I also use the phone as a hotspot and the glitches and fix applies to my laptop identically as they do when viewing here on the phone.

I've been finding the mobile version slow for a couple of weeks now. It will load posts, but elements such as the notifications panel, the arrow to return to next level, etc may be very slow or not even load at all. It also fails to take me to the most recent unread posts, but to what would have been the most recent several days earlier. This behaviour is independent of network/connection speed. The "full" version of the forum is fine, even on the same network connection.

This is happening at home though, with my broadband connection.

I haven't tried outside on 4G yet.

Yesterday I recorded how long it took to fully load the "Racing Comments" forum (watch the blue bar):

https://streamable.com/er6rg

20 seconds more or less, and to be honest it was already loading before I started recording.

This is really strange because the mobile version is very light so it should get loaded instantly (and occasionally it does, but for most part of the times it's slow like in that video).

P.S. Just tried on 4G, same story.

I'm trying to replicate this problem so that I can ask our developers to get it fixed.

Has anyone had similar problems while logged in as an Autosport Plus subscriber (meaning that ads don't load)? If so, I can rule out the idea that this is anything to do with some dodgy ad code...

Sort of, for me it sometimes hangs loading images...it just sits there and I end up changing page, which loads fine.

As far as I can tell, the behaviour is independent of the log-in and I can't see a difference in the issue. I don't have any adblocking on my phone - iPhone SE running iOS 11.4 with Safari.

I think I'm experiencing the same or similar issue described by others here - although it does work sometimes and when it fails, it's after the page took a long time to load.

I’ve been experiencing slow-loading pages for some weeks now when using the mobile version on my phone, and also the occasional disappearance of the ‘like’ buttons. This morning, however, I inadvertently switched to the full version from the mobile version, to find that using the full version causes pages to load significantly quicker (as Slarti mentioned above) so I’ll stick with the full version for now, even though it’s rather awkward to use on a phone.

(iPhone6/iOS11.4/Safari)

Any updates about this?
I’m still experiencing the same issue, it’s quite frustrating.

Icons not loading, pages still slow...
At least for me the mobile version is currently a mess. :(

Slow loading here too, since a couple of weeks. I’ve lost the like buttons on mobile as well.
