For my part, I have no issues with you that would justify restricting my posting habits in such a way.

Short of imagination too, I see.....

"Reportedly"
Yeah, that'll be the Chinese whispers death knell alright.
Funnily enough Eric Bretzman said Fernando told him the exact opposite...but you read the internet so that's where the truth is ...
However....your second assumption seems spot on.
Formula-e is, as coined by a certain driver I know, "Like trying to ride a flaccid penis"

Yeah I keep hearing that too, but I've never seen a solid source linked to it at all.

Isn't he? I haven't heard him say anything about it but maybe I missed it.
I've seen a couple of stories quoting Alonso indicating he has no interest in FE.

I think 'no interest' is a little different from 'not part of my plan at the moment'
Buemi says Alonso has asked about it a lot when they're together at Toyota and seems rather interested and knowledgeable about it. But the fact of the matter seems to be Alonso's priority to win the big, prestigious races of which Formula E has yet to really even begin to forge, so it's not part of his immediate priorities - which is still a slightly different story from 'no interest'. Semantics, I know, but hey ho.

That answers what I was asking about the Carlin hookup if they were building the car in Woking.
“We put one chassis over to McLaren, so we can bring that forward and understand what's going on. This car will be used for the main NTT IndyCar Series program. The test chassis that we would use at the two track tests that we do is being built by Carlin in Florida. We're looking at supervising both of them but fundamentally split the resources in order to make sure we can deliver by the end of March.”
That seems prudent to double team the testing then race assembly duties. I didn't realize Carlin is in FL rather than Brownsburg or Indianapolis.

So! Erm.. How are the Chevrolet engines looking?
Difficult to judge since IndyCar has yet to run an official test session on a oval this year.

Looks fine, and will certainly be easy to spot.
Is the 66 deliberate? I know McLaren did their first F1 race in 1966, but it seems a bit odd to connect that to Indianapolis.
Props to the PR person who wrote the "Alonso" statement. Sounds just like him... I guess.

No big surprises in the livery, and I like that they keep it essentially the same as their F1 version, unlike 2 years ago. Man, that reveal video sure whet my appetite for "the Month of May"!!

Livery as expected which is a huge positive. Looks fantastic.
Posted 08 April 2019 - 13:54
66 was the number of the first McLaren to win the Indy 500
Thanks. Let's hope this one will prove equally successful.

Don't know what's with those ◤◣◥ and why they dont use their logo, blue swooshes on sidepods would be very cool and original to them.

With the same livery, we can really see how beautifuler is an IndyCar compared to an F1, at the moment.
Posted 08 April 2019 - 16:01
Can’t wait to see this car on track. Livery looks great even if it is no surprise. I hope the driver overalls look much better than the one for the F1 team.
It seems that there will be invited media for tomorrow’s test at the Texas Motor Speedway. Hopefully we get to see some track action

That is one beautiful car. I do love the aesthetic of the Indy machines.
Posted 08 April 2019 - 16:50
Saw this photo on the McLaren Indy twitter too. So my hopes are not answered. Oh well, doesn’t matter as long as the car is good.

I am sure that Fernando will notice that, especially when the last Indycar he raced was uglier than a $5 whore. Compared to an F1, at the time.

But looks like they have deleted the tweet with the photo. Maybe it’s because they have photoshopped Fernando’s head over Carlos’ body who has exactly the same pose in the F1 launch photos

Bit sloppy by the McLaren PRs guys, but I’m sure they will remedy it.
I thought something looked a little 'off' there.

They didn't include the 2017 effort in their numbering did they?
I don't think they would. It's a Dallara after all.

It's a Dallara after all.
OK, so I just saw someone claiming "What I really love is THEY designed it...they didn't use one of the standard chassis the rest of the teams use".
That's not right, is it? Doesn't seem so...
